Let's Talk Palestine

When Morocco became a signatory to the Abraham Accords in 2020, thereby recognising the Israeli State, many were left shocked at what appeared to be a sudden Arab betrayal of the Palestinian cause. What many didn't realise, though, was that decades of ties already existed between the two — ties the Accords built on, leading to the sinister mutual recognition of each other's illegally occupied territories: namely Palestine, and the Western Sahara, dubbed Africa's Last Colony.

In this episode of the Let's Talk Palestine Podcast, we speak to Mohamadsalem, co-founder of Sahrawi Voice, to explore who the occupied Sahrawis are, what their struggle looks like, and look at how both the Palestinian and Sahrawi struggles are inherently linked, as our occupiers deepen ties.

Nakba survivor and renowned Palestinian author Ghada Karmi joins the Let’s Talk Palestine Podcast to mark 78 years of Nakba. In this episode, Ghada reflects on her lived experience of displacement, sharing memories of life in Palestine before Israel, and the upheaval that followed. She discusses the violence and tactics used by Zionist terrorist groups during the final years of the British Mandate, and explores how the Nakba reshaped Palestinian identity and memory in the 78 years since.

Andrew Feinstein, anti-apartheid activist and facilitator in the negotiations that ended apartheid in South Africa, joins us on this episode of the Let's Talk Palestine Podcast, as we launch our new series Lessons from Liberation — where we place Palestine into the broader context of other national liberation struggles.
