Autism acceptance month celebrates the need to raise awareness and understanding of autism. We should use this month to spread understanding, inclusion and acceptance of individuals with autism of all ages, genders, and backgrounds. We sat down with Krystle Gore. She is the owner of The Piece That Fits. She discussed how she started working with individuals with autism, trying to find balance between her career and being a wife and mom, and the why behind her company. We also have a special performance by Wayne Strange.

Over the years I have watched my close friend battle with having lupus. Twenty years ago, I didn't know what lupus was or understand how it affects the body. It hurts to watch those we care about be in pain. Lupus can affect any part of the body and is often diagnosed between the ages of 15-45. Join us as my friend, Latoya, shares her story of what lead to her lupus diagnosis, having children, her support system, and what gets her up every morning. Black fathers have been characterized negatively within the media and society. Despite media portrayal, there are a number of black fathers who are actively involved in their child's life. I lost my father in 2001, which was extremely difficult. Every major milestone in my life, I always think about him. It is important to understand the importance of black fathers. Today we sit down with Mr. Charles Odom and his son Ifeanyi to discuss their thoughts on how the media portrays black fathers, being an active father, and how they are working together to change the living conditions for senior citizens. There are around 16% of individuals within the population live with a disability or physical impairment. The environment plays an important role in the experience of those living with a disability. From schools, restaurants, and work facilities accessibility is important. Today we will discuss living with a disability with Phillip Prude.
Within our society there are many challenges. The experiences and traumatic events faced affect our mental health. Within the black community men are often told not to cry growing up. So many hold their emotions and bottle them in. It is important that within the black community we begin to address mental health challenges, so that we can begin the healing process for ourselves, our family, and our community.
