Even though the series deals with some hard issues it’s intended to help start the conversation of healing and help the intended parties see the situation at hand from another perspective. Today’s episode He is Not a Monster starts the series “Two Sides of The Same Coin”. The series will address issues where there are two sides or two vantage points to a given situation. It’s not about choosing sides or making one point of view right or wrong. My goal is to give you enough information on the topic being discussed from different angles so if you ever find yourself in the situation you are able to see it from the other person’s standpoint.
It is important to raise awareness on mental illness and how it affects the whole family. Not being informed puts us in situations that can be harmful. We could be in close contact with someone that really has a mental illness that could be dangerous to others such as schizophrenia or bipolar or manic depression.
We do need to be aware of what's going on around us and not just giving the instructions on what to do when we see Uncle Pete.
