Joe Dawson has a new love in his life. He's on his way to spend some time with her, but when he arrives, she is being attacked! Joe tries to get in the house to save her, but it's too late. He asks Duncan to help him find the person who is responsible. When they ask around the place she had been working, Duncan sees a golden cross and it reminds him of an old "friend". Amanda helps Duncan and Joe

Immortal Paul Karros leads revolutions, but it seems that these days, he just needs a fight, regardless of the actual cause. And he will do anything to keep it going. Including staging an attack on one of his own people. Duncan can't let him continue this path

Richie sees an old girlfriend of his, who claims that he is a father. Duncan tells him that it isn't possible, but he still wants to do the right thing and try to have a normal life. That is, until an old foe of Duncan's shows up in town. Kern was a tracker who lead the army to the village where Duncan was living in the late 1800s, and Mac wants his head.

Duncan returns to the dojo only to be met by a woman he doesn't know, asking for his help. She "killed" her husband, and is now cashing in a centuries old promise that the Koto family can always come to the MacLeod's for help
