A well dressed man walks in to a jewelry store and proceeds to kill everyone with nerve gas, then gets up and steals all the jewels. He is immortal Xavier St. Cloud, and after killing 6 people and taking all the valuables, he goes to the church where Darius lives to gloat about it. Duncan has run in to him before, and wants to take him out. Darius deals with the guilt of not being able to break his vow as a priest, and Richie falls for an older woman, who happens to be married

Duncan, Tessa, and Richie are now living in Paris, and there is a rash of killings performed by mimes around the city, which leads Duncan to remember the immortal assassin Kuyler. Using Kuyler's love of absinthe, Duncan tracks him down and confronts him. Eventually they fight, with Duncan the victor. We also see Duncan and Tessa meet for the first time in a flashback

Duncan has to take on Grayson, an ancient immortal and student of one of the great generals of all time, Darius. Grayson hates Darius for turning his back on war and conquest, and is using those Darius taught to bring peace to the world as a way to draw out the ancient one, and kill him. Tessa accepts a new job in Paris, and takes Richie with her.

Tessa's friend is attacked by The Scalper, a serial killer who has a similar pattern to someone Duncan knew many years ago, but who is dead. Duncan tries to help the police catch him, while Tessa tries to help her friend deal with the trauma

Richie wants to know more about where he comes from, and he meets a man claiming to be his estranged father. Duncan isn't so sure though, and is reminded of a time with his own father, and learning about where he came from. 

Tessa believes she saw a women murdered, but the police don't believe her. There's no body, and no evidence anything happened. Until we learn that the man she believes committed the crime is the Chief of police. AND an immortal. Duncan must face him before he can kill Tessa. Also, Richie learns how to parallel park

Richie runs in to a friend from his old neighborhood who is in some trouble, and he and Duncan help her out. It turns out the man she got on the wrong side of, is an old "friend" of Duncan's. Tessa makes a connection to the young girl's daughter

Duncan meets a mysterious and beautiful woman, but is she really the Femme Fatale that Tessa thinks she is, or is an old rival of Duncan's pulling the strings. Richie starts a new job as a used car saleman

Tessa is taken captive by some men when she heads up to the mountains for the day. Duncan must track her, and find the men. Even though no one has been able to track them for years

Duncan gets hit by a car, and runs across an ER doctor who likes to experiment on some of his more interesting patients. Special Guest Star Joe Pantoliano is Dr. Wilder in this more forgettable episode of Season 1
