One of the most liberating truths in Scripture is that you do not have to fight your own battles. God fights for you. Exodus 14 verse 14 says, "The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace." The Israelites were trapped between the Red Sea and the Egyptian army. They were terrified. They cried out to Moses. They said, "Why have you brought us out here to die?" But Moses said, "Do not be afraid. Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord. The Lord will fight for you. You only need to be still."My dear friend, you face battles every day. Some are physical. Some are emotional. Some are relational. Some are spiritual. Your natural instinct is to panic and try to fight in your own strength. But God is calling you to let Him fight for you. This does not mean you do nothing. It means you position yourself in faith, obedience, and trust, and let God do what only God can do. Your role is to stand. His role is to fight.Think about Jehoshaphat in 2 Chronicles 20. A vast army came against Judah. Jehoshaphat was afraid, but he sought the Lord. He prayed, "We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on You." The Spirit of the Lord came upon a prophet who said, "You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord." Jehoshaphat did something remarkable. He appointed singers to go before the army and praise the Lord. As they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes against the enemy, and they were completely defeated. God fought the battle, and the people just praised.Think about the battle of Jericho in Joshua 6. The Israelites were facing a fortified city with massive walls. The natural strategy would be to lay siege. But God's strategy was different. March around the city for seven days. Blow trumpets. Shout. That was all. No weapons. No fighting. Just obedience and praise. And the walls fell. God fought the battle. The people just obeyed.Think about David and Goliath. David did not try to fight Goliath with the weapons of the world. He refused Saul's armor. He went out with a sling and five stones. But his real weapon was his faith in God. He said to Goliath, "I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts. The battle is the Lord's." David knew that the battle was not his. It was the Lord's. And God fought for David and gave him the victory. So how do you let God fight your battles? First, recognize that the battle belongs to the Lord. The enemy you are facing is not your ultimate enemy. It is an enemy that God wants to defeat for you. Declare, "Lord, this battle is Yours. I give it to You."Second, pray instead of panic. Your first response to a battle should be prayer, not worry. Bring it to God. Lay it at His feet. Ask Him to fight for you. Your prayers are more powerful than any weapon you could wield in your own strength.Third, stand still in faith. Stand still does not mean do nothing. It means stop striving in your own strength. Stop worrying. Stop trying to control everything. Trust God. Position yourself in faith and wait for Him to move. He is faithful.Fourth, praise before the victory. Jehoshaphat sent the praisers out first. They praised before the battle was won. Praise is an act of faith that declares that God has already won. Praise releases God's power into your situation.Fifth, obey whatever God tells you to do. God may give you specific instructions. They may not make sense to your natural mind. But obey them. Your obedience positions you for God's intervention. What this produces in your life is rest in the midst of battle. When you know that God is fighting for you, you can be at peace. You do not have to be anxious or fearful. You can sleep while God fights. You can trust while God works. The battle is not yours. It is the Lord's. And He never loses.Let us pray. Father, I give You every battle I am facing today. I confess that I have been trying to fight in my own strength. I have been anxious, worried, and striving. Today I give these battles to You. The battle is Yours, not mine. I choose to stand still and see Your salvation. I choose to praise You before I see the victory. I choose to trust You to fight for me. I rest in the assurance that You never lose. Fight for me, Lord. In Jesus mighty name, amen. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
