Alex Heister of Keller Williams Bluegrass Realty brings more than just market knowledge to the table—he brings heart, grit, and a deep commitment to community.
A proud Lexington local, Alex lives with his wife Laura near the University of Kentucky, where their story began. While studying at UK, the couple met through Young Life, a Christian outreach ministry, and later served nearly a decade on staff in southern Indiana. That experience, Alex says, gave him invaluable soft skills: public speaking, relationship building, and listening—skills that now form the foundation of his client-first approach in real estate.
In 2020, amid the pandemic, Alex transitioned into real estate with encouragement from his own agent, Ryan Hilliard. Despite the challenges of shutdowns and testing delays, he earned his license on May 4th—"Star Wars Day"—and hit the ground running. His first year saw just two closings, but his determination never wavered.
Alex began at Berkshire Hathaway, where he built early momentum through his personal network. Later, he joined Keller Williams Bluegrass, where he credits mentor Michael for teaching him the art of prospecting, negotiation, and the importance of a win-win approach in every deal.
He’s transparent about the industry’s challenges—from inconsistent income to balancing ethics with commission-based work. “If you’re just pushing a deal to get paid, people can smell that ‘commission breath’ from a mile away,” he jokes. For Alex, it’s about relationships over transactions—helping people make informed decisions, not just closing a sale.
Even in a cooling market, Alex thrives by staying proactive. Whether it's revisiting cold leads or walking clients through difficult choices, he shows up with diligence and humility. His ultimate goal? To be a trusted local advisor, not just a salesman. “Whether you buy a house or not, I’ll still care about you,” he says.
Today, with five years in the business, Alex brings grit, grace, and genuine care to every deal. From late-night calls to off-market hustle, he’s more than a realtor—he’s a guide who walks with clients through one of life’s biggest decisions.
