Ley Lines and Lore

The first dimension outside of Earth is detailed! We walk through this ground-breaking entry into the Dimension Book series to give you a comprehensive review. What's great? What's no-so-great? And does this belong on your bookshelf? There's a lot of wormy goodness here: new magic, new items, new OCCs/RCCs, and an entirely new world to play around in.

We're joined again by Nick today to discuss playing a Gathering of Heroes campaign. What sort of prep should you do, and what kind of character should bring? We took the Gathering of Heroes campaign in World Book 4 and punched it up to the next level with a four act structure and lots of opportunities for the players to see how their choices are having an impact on their world as they play through it.

Here's a link to the handout you can give your players at the beginning of this campaign if you'd like to use it. Feel free to modify as needed:

It's about time we did another ranking episode. This time we rank all the classes from Rifts 1st edition and then we rank all the player options from World Book 4. Where does the Glitter Boy come out on this list? How does it compare to the African Witch? We've broken all the classes down. It's not just a ranking episode though. We present some creative and fun ways to play these characters you might never have thought of!

Your friends are stoked to play Rifts, but no one has volunteered to GM. You feel nervous about volunteering because you've never done it before. Or maybe game night is getting close and you have less than an hour to prep. What are you going to do? Well, worry not, gentle listener. Ley Lines and Lore has got you covered! In this episode we will show you how to prep and run your very first Rifts game. The secrets to being a Game Master are within your grasp, and they are a lot easier than you think they are.

How to Run a Rifts One Shot: These are the presentation notes from a GM Workshop I sometimes run at conventions and game stores, provided to you, free of charge. This workshop formed the major outline for today's episode and contains all the important steps in an easily digestable format:

We're branching out into some new territory today: Millennium Trees! Are you stumped about how to include druids in your game? Do you find herb magic a hard nut to crack? Would it be a blooming good idea if we stopped with the plant puns? Well then stop reading this description and listen to the episode! We've got the best information (outside of World Book 3 itself) on how to include Millenium Trees, Druids, and Herb Magic in your Rifts game.
