無聲電影時期，除了電影本身外，最吸睛的絕對是負責解說電影的辯士。辯士是一種專門替默片或者外國電影進行說明跟配音的職業，台灣的辯士文化源自於日本，1930年，辯士在台灣迎來黃金時期，然而隨著有聲電影出現後，這個職業在歷史洪流之中，逐漸沒落。
