  • Truth to Power in Davos (bonus commentary)

    Bonus Commentary

The World Economic Forum just wrapped up their annual get together of would-be dictators and oligarchs at Davos, Switzerland.

However, it was not all plotting on how to best rule the world at the forum. President of Argentina, Javier Milei had some words for the WEF and their collectivist tendencies.

Milei introduced the members of the WEF to a totally new ideology: Libertarianism. Who knows if they will be affected by his words, but @LRPodcast likes them!

  • LR Podcast: Won't Get Fooled Again, and Again...

It's 2024 and the Israel vs. Hamas war is still in the news. Pro-Palestine demonstrators get violent in Washington, DC, but no arrests reported as of yet. They don't like that President Biden isn't anti-Irael enough.

Hamas spent billions of dollars creating their vast network of terror tunnels while their people lived in poverty. Where did they get the money? In short, from fools and evil people.

Five Things That Won’t Happen in 2024:

An uncontested presidential election. Whichever side loses the 2024 election will say it was stolen.
An impeached Biden convicted in the Senate. The House may not even impeach Joe Biden, despite the fact there’s far more cause to impeach him than there was to impeach Trump either time. Even if they do, few if any Democrats will vote to remove him.
A national news media providing unbiased reporting. We have a better chance seeing Bigfoot ride a dinosaur down 5th Ave than any of the legacy news media adopting non-biased reporting standards.
A Conservative government anywhere in the English-speaking world doing anything very well…conservative. Big “C” Conservatives are really good at only one thing– disappointing small “c” conservatives.
Disney putting out a truly non-woke, family friendly entertainment product. Nothing bearing the Disney name will cater to traditional family values, and unfortunately this may also extend to any of their properties, namely Marvel or Star Wars.

Dystopic Journal Year in Review 2023

      Clips:

      1. From 1/9: Book review of “Neither Stunning nor Brave” Dystopic fiction by comedian and writer, Michael Loftus.

      2. From 1/30: Dystopic Journal: Has the WEF's Influence Plateaued? The World Economic Forum met in Davos, Switzerland. Their focus-- use climate change alarmism to drive economic policy. The free world won't survive the kind of economic policy the WEF is pursuing. As far as they're concerned, the problem is that people, especially in the West, have too much economic freedom.

      3. From 3/6: “The Disunited States” Some of the pros and cons of a national divorce are explored. Taxes and spending policies are one many dividing lines between red and blue America.

      4. From 10/31: Halloween Special. I interview an expert on all things Scandinavian, Poor Yorick, who sets the record straight on whether or not the Scandinavian countries are the socialist Utopias that some like Bernie Sanders suggest they are.

      5. From 11/6: “These Misguided People”. After the pogrom committed against Israeli Jews on 10/7, it has become apparent that many on the Left may not hold the moral high ground that they claim to. Most of them are quite comfortable with many of the things the Nazis whom they claim to hate, stood for.

      1. Christmas Message, 2023

We've just waited through three weeks of Advent. Imagine waiting though three centuries, or three millennia, as our pre-Christian brother and sisters did. Over 2023 years ago, a savior was born.

...A savior. People today tend to think of Christianity, the Bible, as a rulebook, a mere list of things they can't do. But we as Christians don't celebrate on Christmas Day the birth of a rule book, or a rule giver, we celebrate the coming of a SAVIOR.

        Merry Christmas!

      2. The Disturbing Effects of Cultural Marxism

Young Americans give a frightening response to a poll question about Israel's right to exist. This shows how pervasive cultural Marxism has become in our society. This article from Just the News is an excellent illustration of how Cultural Marxism leads to support for deeply immoral causes, like that of Hamas.

      3. Liberty Relearned Podcast: The Subjective Morality of the Left

Liberty Relearned is about not just relating interesting news stories to the audience, but also exploring the conservative/libertarian principles at play in each story. Hopefully, you've gotten a chance to listen to or watch parts one and two of my two-part look at Israel in a post-Hamas world. Rather than make this "Part III" of the series, I've decided to do this episode as a kind of appendix to parts one and two. I want to do more than just tell you that Hamas and their supporters are evil, I want to explain what makes them evil, or if you prefer, "differently moraled".

        Until next time,

        Stay healthy, happy, and free!

      4. Liberty Relearned Podcast: Israel in a Post-Hamas World pt II

In part two we look at the motivations of the Israeli people following the massacre of 10/7/23 and see that it's not dissimilar to the mindset of Americans after 9/11/01. We also look at Israel's detractors, those who attend pro-Hamas rallies. They have a different concept of morality that allows them to wink at the atrocities committed by Hamas.
