World Without Parler, Day 16: America in Crisis (or at least this American) If you were on Parler, you can follow this podcast on Getter, @LRPodcast.

We're coming up on the third anniversary of the Liberty Relearned (LR) Podcast. Just as one assault on our freedoms due to the ACA (Obamacare) prompted me to launch LibertyRelearned.com eight years ago, another crisis of our freedoms prompted me to launch this podcast in May of 2020. At that time, we were in the depths of the Covid hysteria and the truncation of our rights that came with it. Soon after, were the riots, looting, and arson that surrounded the Geroge Floyd protesters.

After Alvin Bragg took a sledgehammer to the idea of equal justice when he indicted former president Trump, now Soros-backed prosecutor is on the radar of Conservatives, and fans of law and justice in general, St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kimberly Gardner, and not in a good way. An article in Just the News decribes that a St. Louis judge to appoint special attorney in contempt case against Soros-backed prosecutor. Soros apparently believes that too many people of color are being accused and convicted of crimes, so he's decided in the name of equity, to back with millions of dollars, prosecutors and DA's that won't be hard on crime and in prosecuting less criminals, create equity for what are believed to be oppressed minorities. His approach fails to protect the victims, many of whom are also people of color and their communities. Far away from the reality of the dystopia they've helped create, and insulated from their bad decisions, the leftist elite see you as just a notional being, something to be manipulated and controlled with their perverse carrot-and-stick approach.

  • Parler is Down, Long Live Parler!

    From S3E50:

On day number 9 of world without Parler, we still have no Parler, no new news, and no apparent plan. When Elon Musk took over Twitter, he had a clear plan to rehabilitate the platform that was well publicized. An article appearing in the Washington Examiner entitled: Parler will 'maximize' free speech, new owner says suggests that Parler's new owner, Ryan Coyne has no discernible plan for his new acquisition. When will it be back up? Will it ever be back up? He can't say. He speaks of maximizing free speech but denies a platform for Parler users to exercise it.

From an article in Just the News tells us that a whopping three (3) people
have so far received money from our government in relation to COVID
19 injury claims. These claims combined only totaled amount $5000.
Seems like very little money going to very few people considering the
number of COVID-19 vaccine injury claims out there. This doesn't
seem enough, unless its just the beginning.

  • The Long-suffering Parler Users

    From S3E49:

It’s like a bad dream for Parler fans. It’s Déjà vu all over again. The site is down, again. This time it’s been taken down by its new owner. In its place, they put up a press release reading in part: “No reasonable person believes that a Twitter clone just for conservatives is a viable business any more. By refocusing on the cloud and IT infrastructure space George Farmer has done an exceptional job at successfully leading Parlement into a critically important industry where it has already begun to excel.”

Parler was acquired by Starboard, a media conglomerate taking its name from the right side of a ship. The move came suddenly, as far as I can tell, without notice. Starboard states they are about providing uncancelable platforms, yet they took down one of the very few.

Another part of the press release reads: “Advancements in AI technology, along with the existing code base and other new features, provide an opportunity for Starboard to begin servicing unsupported online communities – building a home for them away from the ad-hoc regulatory hand of platforms that hate them.”

This sounds good, but somehow is not reassuring. Is such a service necessary? Probably. Is this the way to reassure the Parler user they’ll have a home, away from the madness that is the Twitterverse? Probably not. There’s nothing in the statement to reassure the Parler users to stick around, because what comes will be better than ever. How many times will Parler users have the rug yanked out from under them before they jump ship for Truth Social, Getter, or a kinder, gentler Twitter? I don’t know what sort of company Starboard is, and I want to give them the benefit of the doubt, but the ham-handed way they just took down Parler is not a good start.

    What do you think?

Also going on... Will the arrest of an Air National Guard airman for espionage provide a pretext for reviving the RESTRICT Act? How could a 20 y/o airman in an entry-level position have access to the highly classified information he is allaged to have disseminated over the internet? We were led to believe the information he had released had been altered. Was the classified information that was released online disinformation, or was or government telling it was inaccurate the real disinformation? Will this incident be used as a pretext to revive the ailing RESTRICT Act, some have called, "Patriot Act 2.0"?

  • From the LR Podcast: Easter Message 2023

Last year, I wrote Easter Message 2022. This year I repeat that message, but with emphasis on different areas.

    From last year's Easter message:

"Easter reminds us that just as Jesus was reborn as a higher eternal form of himself, that we can and must strive to do this same. Life and freedom are the twin gifts the Creator has given to us. As one or the other becomes diminished, their restoration, rebirth, resurrection, once started becomes a force of nature. As we will it, death gives way to life, fear to courage, and oppression to freedom. Become one with that force of nature that demands the scales be re-balanced in favor of our Divine right, and perhaps achieve in the process, a rebirth to a higher form of spiritual life."

The Easter season gives us hope in the renewal of the world. We hope for everlasting life in the next world, we must deal with the cyclic nature of this one. The Easter Mircale gives hope and strength to those who believe, and our knowledge of history shows us of the small and great cycles of life from the individual to the that of society, to that of civilizations. With strength, wisdom, and grace, we may enjoy sooner than later, the ascendency of freedom and rationalism.

    Until next time,

    Stay healthy, happy, and free!

This year, we still find ourselves at the very beginning of a greater renewal cycle. Leftism and collectivism have been in the ascendancy, but this cannot last. History shows that the pendulum swings from the left to the right, from liberal to conservative. Different people, different parts of the world find themselves at different points in this cycle. Some have rebounded towards greater liberty and independence, while other continue to hurtle downwards like a meteor.

  • Just another political persecution for the Left.

There was a tragic shooting in Nashville recently. An apparent trans activist went into a Christian School and murdered five people. The left-leaning mainstream media seems a little confused about who was the victim in this case. While they publicly worried about any danger to the trans-community in the area, it didn't even occur to them that the Christian community, they apparent target of the attack, might have reason to fear.

Does the Trump indictment give you a sense of Deja vu? Not surprisingly, this is not the first abuse of law enforcement by a corrupt Democrats. Scott Walker, then governor of Wisconsin, and his Republican allies faced similar persecution when they crossed the state's powerful teacher's union in 2015. Here's what I wrote about it at the time in my article: A Chilling Case of Apparent Political Intimidation in Wisconsin

Democrats were willing to use the justice system as a weapon against their political opponents back then, and certainly have no problems with doing so now.

There's more about the story in this article from Fox News: Trump indicted after Manhattan DA probe for hush money payments

In other Political news, Former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson has announced his candidacy for the GOP nomination. There was no real call for this, but there it is, he's running.

  • Is America (Still) Really a Free Country?

A blast from the past: From one of my first blog postings. Have things changed since then? As the saying goes: “The more things change, the more they stay the same.” This post was written while Obama was president. The Democrat in the White House has changed, but the ruling by fiat has not. We find ourselves facing #democrattyranny yet again.

From “Is America Really a Free Country?”:

OK, so we learned our lesson with the Affordable Care Act and threw out those in Congress willing to play fast and loose with our liberty. The Constitution says that Congress makes the laws, so we are therefore (for the moment) safe from our government forcing us to buy American made electric cars, yes? No, not necessarily. President Obama has decided he does not need Congress. He has a phone and a pen (read staff and flail) that give him the power though executive order to instruct the proper regulatory body to create virtual law through regulation. He believes he can rule through Executive Order, and in fact has managed to do so. He as he sees it, could issue an order to the EPA, a non-elected body, to regulate the production of fossil fuel out of existence and thereby make gas-fueled vehicles no longer a viable option for transportation. Crazy? He is attempting to do exactly that. Onerous regulations in the coal industry at his direction already make it almost impossible to build an economically viable coal fire plant. He will not allow a pipeline to be built to move Canadian oil despite the fact that it is actually safer to transport it that way than with rail or over the roads. As for the American made part? He basically federalized GM through the bailouts, too bad their electric car has so far not met consumer needs. That window has closed, but should the automotive industry ever need another bailout… Hope (if not change) springs eternal.

    LibertyRelearned.com April 2015
President Biden has emulated Obama’s penchant for ruling by executive order. He’s used executive orders to continue with President Obama’s war on fossil fuel. He’s also abused his executive order power do create vaccine mandates and forgive student loan debt. Only a few things stand between him and Trudeau levels of tyranny, our Supreme Court, our currently GOP held House, and a few red state governors.
