  • A Dark Day for the Republic

This past week, former president Trump was indicted on 37 counts by Special Counsel Jack Smith's investigation into classified records. Trump's legal team will most likely claim that the former president had an absolute legal right to possess those documents. They will claim that the DOJ under Biden had no legal predicate to start such a criminal investigation for what is obviously a civil matter.

This occurs in the same week that it has come to light that a trusted government informer has alleged that current president Biden has accepted $5M in bribes. This, if true would not only be an impeachable offence, but a criminal one as well. Many have found the timing of the Trump indictment to be a little too coincidental, given the serious nature of the evidence being presented against the President.

This is a dark day, a dark time for the Republic because now the political leader in power is now attempting to have his chief political opponent arrested. This is something we usually only see in third-world countries. This clearly showes the Democrats have no concern with being labeled as hypocrites. They, by their actions have shown they believe themselves above the law and their opponents, especially Trump, below it.

  • The Real Problem with the Debt Ceiling

    From S4E4:

A lot has been made of the recent raise of the U.S. government debt ceiling. There are plenty of pros and cons. Most conservatives would agree that we could have and should have done better. That’s a subject that other pundits and experts can debate. The “debt ceiling crisis” and the looming default on the debt that has been so far averted, are just symptoms of a greater problem, our out-of-control federal spending and the debt. It’s really very simple, if you don’t increase the debt, you don’t have to increase the debt ceiling.

One problem preventing the GOP from doing the right thing and getting a better deal, was the prospect of fighting an uphill battle against the mainstream media over public opinion. An article in the Daily Signal describes how the a compliant mainstream media perpetually siding with the Left on such issues helped cause the problem.

President Biden tried to lay the blame of any prospective default on the debt at the feet of the Republicans. But why was it necessary to raise the debt ceiling in the first place? Because the previous Congress, a Democrat-led Congress, passed a budget that blew though the existing ceiling and the Democrat President signed it.

The debt ceiling wasn’t the real problem, the deficit spending was. Our debt was. Because of exploding federal spending since 2020, the Federal Reserve was forced to print more dollars. With each new dollar printed in excess of the old total, each individual dollar became worth less. According to Modern Monetary Theory, since the US Dollar is the world’s reserve currency, not all of those dollars will stay in the American economy, thereby avoiding a lot of the inflation.

  • Memorial Day Message 2023

    Memorial Day is a different

kind of holiday. More a day for honoring and remembering than pure
celebration. In America, it's different in another way, it's
different because we support the values our heroes died for, not just
the sacrifice they made for their country. While virtually every
country honors their war dead, only a few also honor the cause or
causes they died for. In former communist and fascist countries,
those who honor their dead likely reject the political causes they
died for. In some, perhaps most cases, the honor is for protecting
their homelands and answering the call of duty. In some cases, they
were pressed into service to fight for a cause not their own, but
    they are honored nonetheless.

That's not to say that our

values would be or should be in complete accord with each and every
American fallen hero. The war against the Native American tribes
comes to mind. Did they fall in protection of their loved ones, or
in an effort subdue a people? Maybe both? Most importantly however,
those men and women we honor were our family, friends, our
countrymen. They were people who fought for a cause greater than
themselves. They fought and died for a dream, an ideal we call
“America”. It's an idea we might spend the rest of our days
perfecting, but a worthy one. The challenge is to keep that idea,
that all men are created equal under God, that values life, liberty,
and the pursuit of happiness, be the reason we fight, if we must
fight. We honor our fallen by honoring those ideals, so that their
sacrifices will never be in vain.

  • Dystopic Journal: Right out of 1984
Last week the Durham Report came out exposing the Russian Collusion Hoax for just that, a hoax. It described the deep state’s role in perpetuating it. Not unrelated, is a new piece of legislation being proposed by Senate Democrats, effectively establishing a federal commission that acts like the Ministry of Truth from Orwell’s 1984.
How are the two items related? The Digital Platform Commission Act (DPCA) would establish a “Ministry of Truth” that would (so they say) police misinformation and disinformation. The Durham Report proved that the government, in league with the mainstream media, colluded to influence the outcome of the 2016 election. Then failing that, undermine the Trump presidency. We also know that many of the same players colluded to bury the Hunter Biden laptop story, again with the express aim of hurting President Trump. This was done primarily by means of– you guessed it– misinformation and disinformation! It’s almost as if the Democrats used 1984 as an instruction manual.

  • Liberty Relearned Podcast: The Left's Abuse of Language

    Welcome to Season 4!

If you thought your ideology or argument were superior, you probably would feel the need to change the definition of words or use terms in ways outside of their common usage. You would not feel the need to use deceptive language.

When Democrats talk about "white supremacy" what they usually are referring to is actually Western Civilization-- Free market capitalism, meritocracy, and Judeo-Christian values. How do you think they can rationalize a black, Latino, or Asian person being a "white supremacist"? It is leftist doublespeak. #doublespeak

An article in Just the News talks about President Bidens attempt to gaslight people into believing the worst threat to America is white supremacy. To most of us, that seems ridiculous. Other problems like fentanyl, the border crisis, or Chinese aggression in Asia would seem like greater threats. That's because when those on the Left talk about "white supremacy" or "systemic racism" they are using those terms in a different way than most normal people do.

Ponder this and remember the Left's misuse and outright abuse of words is done out of the weakness of their argument.

    Until next time,

  • You're Only a Notional Person to Them

After Alvin Bragg took a sledgehammer to the idea of equal justice when he indicted former president Trump, now Soros-backed prosecutor is on the radar of Conservatives, and fans of law and justice in general, St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kimberly Gardner, and not in a good way. An article in Just the News describes that a St. Louis judge to appoint special attorney in contempt case against Soros-backed prosecutor. Soros apparently believes that too many people of color are being accused and convicted of crimes, so he’s decided in the name of equity, to back with millions of dollars, prosecutors and DA’s that won’t be hard on crime and in prosecuting less criminals, create equity for what are believed to be oppressed minorities. His approach fails to protect the victims, many of whom are also people of color and their communities. Far away from the reality of the dystopia they’ve helped create, and insulated from their bad decisions, the leftist elite see you as just a notional being, something to be manipulated and controlled with their perverse carrot-and-stick approach.
