A heartwarming touching romance
Rodeo Sweethearts is a quick story, but one that shows the steadfastness of a love thatâs lasting a lifetime. And isnât that what we all really want to find?
Rob and Melinda have been married for almost three decades, raised five children and run a successful ranch. Theyâve been blessed and happy in their lives â but theyâve also been holding on to a secret for the majority of that time. A secret that one wants to tell, and the other is hesitant to face the possible repercussions. Itâs not my place to say what that secret is, but as details come out itâs not difficult to guess and have empathy for this couple.
This very short story is heart warming and moving as we see up close and personal how love can remain strong against what life throws our way.
Iâve been a fan of anything Marietta, Montana related for a while now. I found this small town full of unique romances a bit mid-stream, so lately Iâve been going back and picking up earlier series that Iâve missed along this fun journey. Rodeo Sweethearts may be a few years old, but the message is truly ageless. love wins â and thatâs what matters most of all.
Meh, it was okay.
This is a western cultured story, and you will notice that right off the bat. The use of roping and riding lingo is thrown all around, and if you are not acquainted with this kind of sport, you may get confused by the excess use of terms in it. And they are especially prominent in the beginning.
As the story goes on, it begins to lose momentum. Reading it begins to start feeling like work. But if you're a avid reader like me, you will push your way through it, regardless of the struggle.
In the end, it didn't feel whole, and left me with the feeling that I wasted my time reading it. There was no insight into what the surrounding books would be like, so I don't feel any motivation to pick any more of them.
There is something to be said about reading a depressing book, and that is, "why bother?"
Rodeo Sweethearts
I was first confused about the story line until I read another reviewers comments. Now that I understand that this is a postscript to another story ongoing it was a sweet fill in for the parents of the H in another story. This is about the reason why the mother has problems (some called it "vague") from a difficult pregnancy of her triplets birth. This is the parents story of reconnecting and confirming their love to each other. I have read Lilian Darcy's other stories and will again.

After more than thirty years of marriage and five grown children, Rob and Melinda are still as in love as they were back when they were Rodeo Sweethearts in their teens.
