EVERYONE KNEW THERE WAS A TEN-MILE GRACE ZONE
I enjoyed this story that is a page-turner. Jeanne St. Amant has reluctantly returned home to LaPlace, Louisana after living and working in Tennessee. Her dream of making it big as a singer never happened, and several incidences finally find her without a job. Getting pulled over by Officer Daniel Wright sets this story into a new adventure, but the past will come and haunt them. Over time, as she gets to know Daniel, he makes her feel safe, treasured and protected. They will deal with several unwise, unsafe jobs and him showing her the errors of her ways, but in the end, they have great chemistry and interaction.
From Nashville to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee and back home to Louisana is just to be temporary, and then hopefully Jeanne will go west and get her break. Jeanne has buried a bad experience and never told anyone what happened to her, but that nightmare has reared its ugly head and determined to cause problems. Having a cop for a boyfriend is hard, but having him for your husband is even more challenging. When it comes out that there have been several women murdered and dumped, Daniel becomes extra protective of his flighty wife and insist she will no long go out alone because she matches the serial killer's profile. The story takes several twists and turns and having self-defense and gun safety classes can only take a person so far, but knowing to remain calm and how to handle a crisis will be the difference between life and death.
The story does cover a woman being date raped while drugged, the shame and secrecy of hiding what happened and even going as far as feeling responsible. No woman should ever feel she is at fault; it is the rapist. It also points out, just because you have tools for a job, if they arenât available when your life depends on them, they are useless.
Awesome book! Entertainment Personified!!!
This book has it all. Feisty, talented, but down on her luck Jennie returns to her hometown of LaPlace, LA to regroup and start her life over. The sins of her past catch up with her at the most inopportune time though, and her luck seems to always be bad. Her life does turn around when she is stopped by a very hot, desirable police officer for speeding. This is a must read if you want to be entertained. Great job, Ruby Caine!!! I loved this book of female submissiveness, male dominance, and domestic discipline.
Another fantastic Ruby Caine book!
This was a great book! The story-line kept me reading until I finished the entire book in one sitting.
