This is an episode that I've known was coming for some time. It's a hard one, but I want to make it a beautiful one too.

In this past month, my mother passed away after a long battle with breast cancer.

It's hard to put into words just how these past few weeks have felt, but at this moment, one word comes to mind - bittersweet.

It's the pain of losing mum mixed in with the magic of holding the most beautiful retreat.

It's the most incredible experience of my life, and the most difficult.

It's the feeling of losing someone - but also seeing so many people coming to join together.

It's been a time of grief but also so much love and it's that beauty that I want to focus on today.

There were moments when I thought that the retreat wouldn't or couldn't happen, but mum held on and I was able to share that amazing, healing, fulfilling experience with her. I was able to show her the powerful, wonderful women that came and invested in themselves, and the transformations that they went home with.

She was here to share in one of the most beautiful experiences of my life, and then she had the most beautiful passing.

Today, this is the story I'm sharing. It's raw, it's powerful, it's spiritual, it's healing - and it's beautifully bittersweet.

Now comes the question - what's next?

The fact is, change doesn't come overnight. It takes work and transformation in so many ways, but there are absolutely changes that you can make today that will start to make all the difference.

I'll be the first to put my hand up and say that I have been on a massive and incredible journey of change for myself. I can tell you firsthand that it's an amazing experience and best of all, I can share the key insights that have helped me and my clients the most.

To truly put hustle culture behind us, let's work to build a business and life that serves you - and not the other way around.

Let's start listening to our bodies, connecting with ourselves, learning who we truly are and what we value, and setting solid boundaries from there. Let's understand that we are unique human beings and how we choose to build our business foundations will come from within, not from anyone else.

Shifting away from the boss babe doesn't mean we're shifting away from building a growing, sustainable business. In fact, it means the complete opposite.

There is so much more success and fulfillment to be found when you give yourself space to breathe, reflect, reset, and get support - both in business and in life.

Let me tell you about one of the most beautiful experiences I've had in my life.

In May 2021, I hosted my very own retreat. It was one of the best things I've done to date. In a couple of weeks' time, my new retreat will be launching, and in early 2023, I get to do it all again.

A retreat is an amazing way to create some space, strip the layers back, and take a deep, fresh look at things. It can be a healing, spiritual, and vulnerable experience.

Taking time away from your life and business doesn't have to be something you do alone. It can be the chance to have powerful conversations and intimate gatherings with other wonderful, like-minded women who can help empower and expand you.

Life doesn't always go to plan. I know I had a plan for what this year would look like, and well, let's just say it's not really panned out that way. But the thing is, that is life and business.

Things that are totally out of your control can come up which means suddenly, nothing's going at all as you expected. So here's my lesson for you - let go of that expectation.

It's one of the biggest lessons I've learned this year. It's shown me that expectations can be your undoing, but that releasing control and attachment can lead to growth, success and abundance.

Not only that, as we gear up to hit October, it can feel like the time has totally evaporated - whether that's just this year or seemingly every year.

As a result, this last part of the year can feel like the hardest. We're busy, we're tired, and we just want to get to that end-of-the-year finish line.

Today, I want to talk about a fear that's been around for a lifetime and is shared by so many women. It's a fear centered around one word - "No".

Saying "no" can be a struggle. It means putting up boundaries, having clarity in your business, and trusting that people see the value in what you do. It's believing in the relationships you've formed and knowing that the way your business is structured will allow income to flow.

It's so much easier to fall into a pattern of saying "yes" to everything and everyone. And whilst that may feel good for a while, it's just not sustainable.
