We are continuing our series through the Vision and Values, keying in on Evangelism and Discipleship for 2020. This week I’ll be talking about something called Interruptibility out of Mark 10:46-52 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Mark+10%3A46-52&version=72) and other selected passages. I’ll be zooming on verse 49 Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.”Taking our cues from Jesus, our discipleship should be marked by a speed, capacity, and willingness to allow the needs of others around us to alter, interrupt, or dictate our agenda at any given time as the Holy Spirit leads us.

This week we are looking at the practice of hospitality, out of Romans 12:14 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans+12%3A14&version=72). Hospitality is not just an abstract practice God calls us to, it is a reflection of who he is. We offer who we are and what we have to others, because God offers who he is and what he has to us. As we do so, God draws us to each other and ultimately to him.

This week is our annual family meeting. Our Scripture text for the day will be 1 Cor 12:4-27 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1+Cor+12%3A4-27&version=72), with an emphasis on the unique roles we each have in the body. This along with highlights from 2019 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=rom+2019&version=72), and some looking ahead to the year to come, and a year end financial report.

This Sunday is all about prayer. Nothing of spiritual significance happens apart from the movement of God’s Spirit, and we want to grow in our capacity to ask God for what we need – particularly as it pertains to our unsaved friends.

This week we enter into several weeks on Life’s vision, and what we see God doing with us in 2020. Our text will be Matthew 28:16-20 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew+28%3A16-20&version=72), and particularly the words “baptism” and “teaching,” which expand on what Jesus means by making disciples. In short, we are to help people come to him and grow in him.
