In this episode of Life Lessons, Gin and Sheri talk with Christine Naman, author of the book About Natalie. Christine tells the story of her daughter's struggle with addiction, as well as the challenges that come along with parenting--and loving--an addict.
Christine shares her personal journey with us, from the phone call that no parent ever wants to receive to the moment they realized that her young daughter had a serious problem. She speaks very candidly about the past 10 years, the ups and downs, and where Natalie is today at the age of 22. With her book, About Natalie, she hopes to awaken other parents to the dangers that are readily available to their children, and to help other parents feel supported if they are dealing with the same struggles in their home. Her message is that you can love the addict, even if you don’t love the behavior and choices of the addict.
