It’s Impossible For Trump To Obstruct The Impeachment Inquiry

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. The Constitution is quite clear that the sole power of impeachment rests with the House of Representatives. That’s the entire House of Representatives, not just Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of the House, or Adam Schiff, the chairman of the Intelligence Committee. This means that only a vote of the entire House of Representatives can establish an official impeachment inquiry. That’s what the House did with the impeachments of both Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton. The House has never even held a vote on an impeachment inquiry of President Trump, which means from a constitutional point of view, there is no impeachment inquiry. It’s impossible for the president to obstruct the impeachment inquiry because there isn’t one. He cannot obstruct something that does not exist. Until they vote, the president can ignore them and their subpoenas at will. Over to you, Nancy.

What China Can Teach Colin Kaepernick

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. China is a wretched country. It is ruthlessly totalitarian, and its citizens have no meaningful freedoms at all. Yet when the General Manager of the Houston Rockets sent out a Tweet in support of the pro-liberty protestors in Hong Kong, the Chinese people reacted as one with outrage and condemnation. NBA telecasts have been curtailed, Chinese celebrities are refusing to attend NBA exhibition games, and NBA merchandise has been pulled out of stores. One Chinese man said, “In China, it is motherland above all.” America is the greatest, free-est, most prosperous nation in human history, and yet our celebrities and athletes make a point of disrespecting our flag and our national anthem. Mark Twain said we should love our country at all times, and support our government when it is right. Maybe China has something to teach Colin Kaepernick.

NOBODY Is Entitled To See Trump’s Tax Returns

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. Regressives are incessantly clamoring to see Donald Trump’s tax returns. What his attackers are ignoring in the process is a little thing called the Constitution. The 4th Amendment in the Bill of Rights guarantees the right of every American to be secure from government intrusion into his person, his house, and his papers. Well, the president is an American, as much of an American as you and I are, so this protection applies to him. And his tax returns are “papers,” so this protection applies to them, too. The only exception is if authorities have, not just speculations or allegations, but actual evidence a crime has been committed and a man’s papers are central the investigation of the crime. But no one has even alleged that the president has committed a crime, so this is just another snipe hunt. Regressives yammer that Trump is not above the law. Well, neither are his enemies.

Rooting Out Corruption Is Not A Thing Of Value - It’s His Job

Bryan Fischer here. President Trump is being accused by regressives for campaign violations for exposing the Biden family’s corrupt arrangements with Ukraine and China. Hunter Biden got millions of dollars from Ukraine and his company got one and a half billion dollars from China. It’s entirely appropriate to ask what they got for their money. How much influence did they buy with Vice-President Biden? Bribery is condemned in Scripture as something that blinds those whose eyes would otherwise be clear. It’s impossible to believe that China and Ukraine did not expect some favoritism and concessions from the Obama administration for padding Hunter Biden’s wallet. Although Trump is being accused of angling for a “thing of value” by calling for investigations, that’s wrong-headed on its face. Rooting out corruption is not a thing of value for a president, it is his job.

What Did China Expect From Joe Biden For Its $1.5 Billion?

No one has explained why Biden junior was being paid $50,000 a month by Ukraine when he knew nothing about the energy industry or Ukraine. And nobody knows why China invested $1.5 billion in Biden Junior’s start-up equity firm. It’s unconscionable for an officeholder in the U.S. government - like the nation’s vice-president - to be compromised in dealing with foreign powers because he wanted to protect his son’s huge payday. But Donald Trump will survive this threat for the same reason he got elected in the first place: Evangelicals. 81% of evangelicals voted for Mr. Trump. He’s given us no reason to withdraw our support. He’s been a champion for the sanctity of human life and religious liberty. He has sent over 150 constitutionalists to the federal bench. And he remains committed to protecting our national sovereignty by sealing our southern border. A Republican senator who votes to convict Donald Trump will face the wrath of the vast majority of evangelicals in this country. And trust me, by the time they cast their vote, they will know it.

Evangelicals Are Trump’s Firewall Against Impeachment

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. Regressives are tumbling all over themselves to impeach Donald Trump and remove him from office. But no one as yet accused President Trump of a crime, or identified a law he is supposed to have broken. Impeachment is a political issue, not a legal one. Presidents don’t have to commit a crime to be removed from office if enough people think they are guilty of serious political misconduct. But this means impeachers must get 2/3 of the American people as well as 2/3 of senators on their side before a president can be taken out through impeachment. This will never happen as long as evangelicals hold firm. 81% of evangelicals voted for Trump. He is in office because of evangelical support. If evangelicals don’t waver in their support of the president, the Senate can’t

touch him. If evangelicals stand by their man, the president is safe.

The Abortion Rate Is Dropping

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. According to the Associated Press, the number and the rate of abortions across the country have plunged to their lowest levels since the Supreme Court issued its wretched Roe v. Wade opinion in 1973. Abortions are decreasing in every part of the country, even in Democratic states that protect baby murder. Since 2011, the abortion rate has gone up in only 5 states. The abortion rate is now less than half of what it was in 1990, and there are fewer abortion clinics in America than there were at the beginning of the decade. Since 2011, 400 pro-life laws have been enacted around the country, and Planned Parenthood got aced out of $60 million a year by policies put in place by President Trump. Much work remains to be done. We cannot rest until every baby in the womb is welcomed in life and protected in law. But we should take heart that our labor is not in vain in the Lord.
