Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. Back when I was fresh out of college, I played quite a bit of pickup basketball. One of the guys who was part of our crew was a missionary who had lived all over the world. We were talking one day about campus unrest and the students who blamed America for the world’s ills. He said to me, you know, I’ve noticed that the people who hate America haven’t lived anywhere else. Today’s Americans are the most privileged citizens in humastory, as America enjoys unparallelled prosperity and opportunity, and the finest Constitution in n hihuman history. The lack of gratitude to God for what he has given us here is appalling. Now that liberty is something we must fight for and must defend every day, because there are people, even right among us, who want to take it away. So let’s enjoy our freedom, and protect it for everyone.

The Declaration: We Can’t Ever Have The Separation Of God And Government

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. Some folks say the Declaration of Independence has little legal significance in comparison to the Constitution, but they are quite wrong. The Declaration brought the United States into existence. On July 3, the United States did not exist. On July 5 it did. The Declaration, [[crafted by our Founding Fathers,]] affirms that man is a created being, not an evolved one, and makes it clear that our fundamental civil rights do not come from government but are a gift from God. The Declaration means that we can never, in America, separate God and government, since God is the source of the rights. Government’s job is only to protect them. And Abraham Lincoln freed the slaves based on the declaration that all men are created equal. You can’t get any more legally significant than that. Happy 4th, everyone!

Winnable War: Millennial acceptance of LGBT in toxic decline

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. I tell my listening audience every day that we are fighting a winnable war. Here’s more proof. A new Harris Poll shows that millenials in America are becoming less and less accepting of the LGBT lifestyle every year. In 2016, 63% of Americans 18-34 considered themselves “allies” of the LGBT movement. That number fell to 53% in 2017, and plunged to 45% last year. The same is true about gay family members, gay teachers, and gay history lessons in school. The pro-homosexual CEO of Harris Poll says, “These numbers are very alarming.” I believe the reason is simple: millennials have had the gay agenda rammed down their throats their entire lives. But that means they have personally witnessed the pathologies that come with homosexuality. And it looks like they’ve seen enough.

This Is Not Your Father’s Democrat Party

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. If there’s one thing the Democrat debates have demonstrated this week, it’s the extreme lurch to the left of the entire Democrat Party. This is now a party which allows no principled opposition to the killing of the unborn. In fact, allowing babies to be executed after they have been delivered is now party policy. They are the party of open borders, free health care, free college, and global warming. As CNN anchor John King said, “The candidates are pulling the Democratic Party to the left on health care, immigration, taxes, climate, corporations... They want more government say-so, expansive and expensive policies like Medicare-for-all, carbon taxes, and busting up corporate titans.” The options Americans will have at the ballot box in 2020 are rapidly shrinking, as the Democrats seem intent on running the last few sane Americans out of their party altogether.

Regressives Have Hearts But No Brains

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. The regressive left cannot be reasoned with, they can only be defeated. This is because everything for them is emotion. The only time they use reason is to support positions they’ve arrived at purely by feeling. One example is the tragic picture of the illegal alien father and his daughter, drowning as they tried to sneak into America. Anyone with a heart is moved by that picture. But the question is this: what does compassion do about it? The first thing compassion does is ask what can we do to make sure this never happens to another father and daughter again. Insisting that people apply for asylum only in their home countries or at ports of entry will effectively discourage fathers from trying such dangerous things in the future. Hmmm. Guess that makes President Trump the compassionate one.

Mueller Headed For The Worst Day Of His Life

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. Special prosecutor Bob Mueller has been subpoenaed, against his will, to testify in open session before Congress on July 17. This likely will be the longest day of his life. Democrats are scheduling the hearing, but Mueller’s problem is that Republicans get to ask questions. Mueller will be eviscerated by the likes of Jim Jordan, Doug Collins, and Louie Gohmert who will want to know things like when did you know the Steele dossier was a fraud, and why was it used four times after you knew it was bogus to get warrants to spy on the Trump campaign? Since DOJ regs prohibit reporting derogatory information on any subject who’s not indicted, why did you publish hundreds of pages of stuff designed to make Trump look bad? Mueller will wind up falling into the pit he dug for the president. It’s not gonna be pretty.

Don’t Let Them Lie To You: There Is No Climate Crisis

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. A lot of angry, screechy voices in our culture insist we are facing a global warming emergency. Don’t believe them! Nature dropped two feet of snow on Colorado in the first day of summer this year, and the snowpack in the Rockies is 40 times its normal size. The recent dump of snow was caused by - wait for it - an unusually cold pool of air at high altitudes over the western United States. One ski resort will even be open on the 4th of July. So much for catastrophic global warming. Dr. Mototaka Nakamura, a climate researcher with a doctorate from MIT, has just released a book which argues the theory of global warming is based on data which is “untrustworthy,” “falsified” and has “ no scientific value.” I say we stick with the climate scientist from MIT on this one.

A recent Harvard study which followed 5000 young people for between 8 and 14 years found that those who had a spiritually rooted upbringing were much more likely to be healthier and happier in early adulthood than those who did not. Not only did they report higher life satisfaction positivity in their 20s, they were less likely to smoke, use drugs, or be depressed. They were 30% less likely to have become sexually active in adolescence, and 40% less likely to have a sexually transmitted disease. The key for millennials to being happier and healthier as adults is to have parents who root them and ground them in God and his Word. Winnable war: Supremes protect cross

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. The one thing above all others that explains the existence of America and our success is religious liberty. It was the quest for religious freedom that brought our forefathers to these shores, and it was their commitment to religious liberty that led them to protect it in the First Amendment of our Constitution. But the Supreme Court, through egregious activism, has been stripping us of our God-given religious exercise rights for 70 years. Perhaps things are beginning to turn. This week the Court upheld the constitutionality of a war memorial cross on government land in Maryland. The Court also pointed out for the first time that atheists are not the only ones who have legitimate grievances in situations like this. Overall, this was a huge winnable war moment, one we can all cheer, and a giant step toward the restoration of our nation’s relationship with God.

Pot Destroys Teen Brains

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. If you care about teenagers and their mental health, the rush to legalize marijuana in America is a bad idea. The THC count - THC is the active ingredient in pot - is 68% higher in the pot teens are smoking today that it was back in the 70s. This is not your father’s dope. And the problem is that pot has a dramatic effect on developing teen brains. The part of the brain that controls problem solving, memory, language and judgment is not fully developed until age 25, and marijuana messes with that part of the growing brain. As a result, we are seeing an epidemic of dope-induced psychosis, addiction, suicide, depression and anxiety. As drug treatment consultant Ben Cort says, “The bottom line is, weed ain’t for kids in any form - eating it, vaping it, smoking it. It’s not okay.”
