In this episode, Gordon explains the importance of continuous learning and making sure you implement what you have learnt.
He explains how knowing where your money is and what you are doing with it will help you achieve more and get further in whatever you are doing.
Make sure you tune in now to take control and move to the next level.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
A mentor and continuous learning are key components for self-improvement.
You can access learning for improvement through books and a small amount every day soon adds up.
In ‘The Miracle Morning for Entrepreneurs’, Hal Elrod explains how reading a little bit each day adds up. If you read 10 pages a day this adds up to 3,650 pages per year. This is the equivalent of 18 books with 200 pages.
If you are reading this number of books over a year, related to your chosen subject, then you will see improvement.
If you are reading about it you also need to be implementing it. You will subconsciously start doing some of the new things you are reading about, by osmosis but if you put some effort into implementing some of the things you are learning then you’re going to move to the next level much faster.
If you take notes when you are reading or attending courses it’s important to plan regular review sessions. These sessions provide an opportunity to review what has been learnt and to schedule the focused implementation of key learning and strategies.
It’s about setting yourself up for success, in identifying those 2 or 3 key ideas and scheduling them to be implemented you will gain the most benefit from learning.
Understanding your finances is vital and setting time aside on a regular basis is a useful opportunity to review and plan for the future.
Rob Wilson, financial expert states you should ‘plan to be wealthy or unexpectedly become poor’
It’s not about how much money you have, it's about knowing where your money is at a given time, knowing what you have to spend money on, knowing what money you have available at any moment and your plan for the future.
Identify which debts have the highest interest rates and pay those off first.
Look at how much credit you have available at any given time. It’s important to know how much credit you have available as this credit can be used for any unexpected expenses.
As an investor knowing what amount of credit you have at any time is a key part of managing your money.
