2020 has been a challenging year for us all.  There was so much that happened and yet amidst the challenges came some great opportunities.  It is important to take time to reflect upon the year and see where we are now in order to appreciate the blessings.  My hope is that we have grown and can use this to catapult us into 2021!

We commemorate and celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe.  Mary has always had a profound role in the Church as she is our Mother. For millions in the Americas conversion and great devotion to the Blessed Mother came about through a miraculous course of events that took place back in 1531 to a poor Aztec peasant named Juan Diego.  Join us today to learn of this powerful event and how Mary continues to work in our lives to lead us closer to her son Jesus.

We all have so much to be thankful for.  This year has certainly been one of great challenge, however, when we stop and reflect to count our blessings we can see so much good.  Today I share my thanks and the importance of having an attitude of gratitude with the hope of encouraging each of us to take a moment to be thankful for all we have received. 

College basketball season is ready to tip off.  There is nothing more exciting than watching the big game on TV between some of the nation's best programs.  For Luke Colwell, he plays an integral part in the preparation and efforts that lead to big time victories in the SEC for South Carolina.  As the head Team Manager of the basketball squad, Luke shares with us a behind the scenes look as we examine the ins and outs of basketball operations down south.  Colwell explains the Xs & Os of daily life in the SEC, what transpires for a top D1 program, and how his time on the sidelines with the Gamecocks is preparing him for a future career as a college coach.  

Minnesota Twins pitching coach, Mike McCarthy is known for his great prowess and expertise on the diamond, having played over six seasons in professional baseball & now developing the best young talent there is in the game.  However, what Mike is most excited about goes well beyond baseball.  It is something that all of us could learn from and be inspired by.  Mike's approach to life is truly special, as he dedicates his time to serving others by spreading love and positivity. On today's podcast, Mike McCarthy discusses having a heart of service, how we can cause a ripple effect in society in our own unique way, and the importance of impacting the lives of others through our generous acts of love.

Pediatric Cancer continues to impact thousands of children every year throughout the U.S. Thanks to the great humanitarian efforts of ROC SOLID FOUNDATION, volunteers like Laurie and Tom of Apex, North Carolina, are bringing renewed hope to children battling cancer.  ROC SOLID is a tremendous nonprofit run by Eric Newman, as his organization continues to bring love and smiles to kids through the building of play sets and proving them and their families ready bags to aid them in their fight.  In this episode Laurie & Tom who have been volunteering on builds for three years with ROC SOLID discuss the work of the foundation, how to get involved, and the ways that this non profit is brightening the lives of so many children throughout the country.
