#24: Bennie Fowler
Thank you for being here! Most likely you're listening to this one from home. This is an unprecedented time we are going through with the coronavirus pandemic. And I hope you are doing okay. It's impacting our everyday lives, local communities, and world. At the time of this recording on March 23rd, most of us are self quarantining and practicing social distancing or some of us are even mandated to by state order to stay home. I recorded this episode with Bennie on May 19th.
Here's some background info on Bennie Fowler. He is a six-year veteran of the NFL. He spent four years with the Broncos and was a member of the Super Bowl 50 championship team in 2016. Bennie holds the annual Bennie Fowler youth football camp in Detroit, Michigan, is an in-demand speaker trained through the NFL Speakers Bureau, and lives in Denver during the offseason.

We talk about his new book, Silver Spoon: The Imperfect Guide to Success. And also his thoughts on being present, the power of mindset, and as difficult as it may be to be bunkering down right now, this is also such an opportunity for us to do some of that difficult inner work, create healthy habits, and set goals.
Topics we cover in this episode:
Bennie shares stories and advice that will help you overcome what's holding you back. He also gives great tips on how to practice mindfulness. Something we could all use in these crazy and uncertain times we are experiencing.
I hope you can take away some inspiration for whatever you're up to, or just some practices you can employ to get through each day.
Love you & we're all gonna get through this and be okay :)

#23: Skincare! Possibly my favorite topic to discuss. In this episode, I sit down with Jessibella Coffin of Modern Skin Therapy (located in Aurora, CO). She recently opened up shop and she came on the podcast to talk about her journey getting to be a licensed esthetician and business owner. Her passion for skincare and helping her clients on their journey to healthy skin really shines through as she speaks.

#22: In this one, I sit down with Julie Pero. She's an amazing mama and blogger in Denver, CO.
This episode is mainly for parents or parents to be! Julie Pero is a mom and the writer of the personal blog, Mommy's Magic. I met her at a coworking event and loved what she had to say about intuitive parenting and she gave me some advice for a friend who was struggling with being a new mom and not having a strong support system.
She started Mommy's Magic as a reaction to her own journey through motherhood; seeking answers to the unknown and learning how to trust her instincts above all other logic. Without family readily nearby to help, she's had to find her own way, make mistakes, and learn to trust her gut feelings & intuition.
Julie is creating a community of mothers to share stories, wins & losses & lessons learned. I think you'll enjoy Julie's wisdom around trusting your gut and taking everyone's advice with a grain of salt.

#21: In this episode, Leyla sits down with Video Marketing Expert, Mike Kilcoyne and talks about all things around this topic like why it's so important for your business or personal brand, why you're probably afraid to start, why people tend to give up too easily.
When it comes to taking your marketing and branding to the next level by incorporating videos, you just gotta jump in and continually put yourself out there. You probably will not feel ready or comfortable, but it's a process, and the more you do, the better you get.
Other topics we touch on include loneliness, why striving to be an influencer is silly, self-care, creating habits, and why most new year resolutions fail.

Andy Seth is one of those guys that just has this energy about him. It was apparent from his online presence and when I sat down with him for this interview, I saw it in action. He is an entrepreneur, #1 bestselling author, and music producer dedicated to helping people realize their full potential. He is the founder of nine successful businesses.
In this interview, we talk about his new book, Bling, which is a parable about a rapper on a spiritual journey. It's such a great book because it makes the whole world of spirituality, consciousness, and meditation, accessible to a diverse audience.

#19: Leyla sits down with Stephanie Sikora, best selling author, life coach, systems specialist, and professional organizer. Stephanie offers home organization services throughout the U.S., virtual coaching, and on-line resources for busy individuals and households.
This episode is for you if you've been feeling defeated, unmotivated, and in a constant state of chaos due to how cluttered and unorganized your space is. Stephanie really breaks down how our brain works on clutter- and spoiler alert, it's not pretty!
I want you to be more present in your home and life. Constant clutter makes me feel frazzled, hopeless, unmotivated...the list goes on… but it never really occurred to me that my clutter and disorganization could be one of the underlying causes of why I'm not doing the things I want to be doing in life. This episode offers some insights into how this is affecting our brain, and how we can make significant improvements in our day to day lives.

#18: In this episode, I chat with Heather Sager about public speaking, how to be a better communicator in day to day life, and how battling invisible illnesses has affected each of us (Heather's story is so inspiring!)
The topic of public speaking really freaks us all out to some degree but what if we stop and think about our message, our why, and our intention. It would really help us get present and realize it's not about us, it's about the person or people we're speaking to and how we can help them.
This episode is packed with so many tips on how we can be more effective communicators in our everyday life all the way to being on a stage.
Heather Sager is a speaking coach and communication expert.
She helps people structure their ideas, clarify their message and hone their speaking skills so they can deliver magnetic live presentations, videos, and workshops that grow their authority.
She's spoken on stages around the world teaching 6 and 7-figure business owners how to grow their businesses using effective communication. Heather lives in Portland, OR with her husband and two young sons (who definitely test her communication chops daily).

#17: I'm excited for you to hear this one, it's packed with lots of tips on how to get clear on your message and put it into action. Also, our thoughts on marketing, branding, and selling in 2020. Of course, we have to talk about parent life, manifesting, writing down our goals, how to get over imposter syndrome, and how we practice self-care and ways that help us stay present.

Bonus Episode #1: Hey you! On a whim, the day before Christmas Eve 2019, I decided to record my first solo episode in the Target parking lot.
This is the full story of how I started my podcast and what occurred just before that was the catalyst to me starting when I did.
The reason I want to share this story is simply to show you what was going in my head, my worries, fears, hesitations about starting my podcast because I know many of you are going through the same thing.
You have a thing that you want to do, or start, or try, but for some reason or another, you're waiting, you're planning, and overthinking to put it simply. You gotta just START. No more waiting. It doesn't need to be perfect to start. You can improve and learn and adjust as you go. But you gotta start. like... now.
In addition to my story, the second half is some of my favorite quotes or sayings that go with this theme of STARTING and TRYING.
I'm so excited for you to embark on your journey and I hope this short episode will bring some motivation for you.
Happy HAPPY 2020. I can't belive it's 2020.
Let's make this the year we START. The. THING!
Love you,
XO Leyla
#16: Hey you! You're going to get a lot of value from this episode. This topic literally does apply to every person. It's about this thing we've been chasing to no avail - it's called work-life balance. And what a breath of fresh air it was to speak to someone who's life work is to help educate us that work-life balance is a myth, it's unattainable. Instead, Dana is teaching people that we can consciously choose where we spend our time and energy, and which facets of life we choose to settle. I love that she's taking the term "settling" and giving it a positive connotation.
It was amazing to be able to speak to Dana and get some clarity on what she means by all of this. Here's a quick bio on her before we jump into the episode… Dana Look-Arimoto is an executive and leadership coach, mentor, inventor of Stop Settling®, and the author of Stop Settling, Settle Smart: Rethinking Work-life Balance, Redesign Your Busy Life.
I hope you enjoy this episode. If you do, please leave a rating, and share it with a friend who needs to hear this message.
