In this episode of the Built Different Podcast, Dr. Zach and Joshua Broome sit down with Jared Nelms, President and CEO of The Timothy Initiative, a global disciple-making and church-planting movement partnering with indigenous leaders to take the gospel to every people and every place. Since 2007, TTI has focused on multiplying disciples who make disciples and planting churches that plant churches. Their heartbeat? Walk closely with Jesus and lead others to do the same. Through insightful dialogue, Jared unpacks what it looks like to live a life of spiritual formation and multiplication, explore the cost and courage of following Jesus amid persecution, and envision a world where there’s a healthy church in every village, everywhere. If you’re hungry for a faith that endures: rooted in truth, shaped by obedience, and lived in community, then this conversation will deeply encourage and challenge you for the road ahead.

Today’s Bible Verse:
“Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.” — Philippians 4:5
Paul’s encouragement here is wonderfully practical: let your life make gentleness visible. Not weakness, not passivity — but a steady, Christ-shaped calm that shows people what God’s nearness looks like in everyday moments. When pressures rise or frustrations flare, this verse pulls us back to center. We don’t have to force outcomes or defend ourselves at every turn. The Lord is close, and His presence empowers us to respond with grace that stands out in a loud, reactive world.

What happens when a viral political debate meets centuries of biblical prophecy—and your kids are the ones asking the hard questions? In this pivotal episode, Catherine confronts a question that’s as theologically complex as it is culturally relevant: Is the modern nation of Israel the same Israel God promised to Abraham, or has the church replaced her in God’s plan?
This topic has taken center stage in cultural and theological debates, fueled by viral exchanges between commentators like Tucker Carlson and Ted Cruz, as well as in the classroom, on college campuses, and around family dinner tables. Catherine welcomes back Jewish historical scholar Clifton Payne Junior for a deep dive into Israel’s biblical, historical, and genealogical identity.
Key moments include:
Special attention is given to Ezekiel 37’s “valley of dry bones” prophecy, the fulfillment of Isaiah 66’s “nation born in a single day,” and the astonishing coincidence that the scheduled synagogue reading on the Sabbath Israel was reborn included Amos 9’s promise of restoration—a detail highlighted from Jonathan Cahn’s Book of Mysteries.
Through scholarly insight, biblical exposition, and practical application, this episode equips parents to have intelligent, faithful conversations with their children about Israel, prophecy, and what it means to “bless” this nation. It concludes with a call to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and a reminder that God’s faithfulness to Israel is a testament to His faithfulness to all His people.
Meet the Guest:
Guest bio: Clifton Payne Junior is a gifted Bible teacher and Jewish historical scholar with advanced studies in Jewish history from Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Author of “What the Bible Really Says About Tithing and Giving: It’s Different Than You Think,” he brings clarity and depth to some of the most misunderstood questions facing the Church today.

A Prayer to Believe that Prayer Changes Everything
Let's look at Philippians 4:6–7—not just as a list of instructions, but as a promise.God’s Word doesn’t simply tell us what to do about anxiety; it assures us that when we bring our worries and thanksgivings to Him in prayer, His peace—beyond human understanding—will guard our hearts and minds in Christ.Nicolet Bell reminds us that Jesus promised peace, and Paul shows us how to experience it.
Reference: Philippians 4:6-7
Prayer: Father, I thank you that you hear us when we pray. I thank you for Jesus’ example of bringing specific, intentional requests for those we love to you. Let my prayers strengthen me and give me your peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Worry has a way of sneaking in and taking over, but Ephesians 3:20-21 reminds us of something worry can’t compete with: a God who is able—able to do exceedingly, abundantly above anything we ask, imagine, or fear. When anxiety rises, God invites us to remember His power, His faithfulness, and His perfect track record. From parting seas to opening parking spaces to carrying us through life-changing moments, He proves again and again that nothing is too big or too small for His care.
Highlights
God interrupts our worry with reminders of His presence and power.
Scripture anchors us when our minds want to spiral into fear.
God cares for both the “small things” and the monumental moments of our lives.
Nothing can thwart God’s plans—His purpose always prevails.
We worry because our vision is limited, but God sees the whole story.
Remembering past faithfulness strengthens our confidence in present battles.
Jesus stands ready to answer the “door” when worry comes knocking.

God Is Able

Bible Reading:
“ Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” - Ephesians 3:20-21 NKJV
“Why are you worried?”
God interrupted my thoughts with this question to ponder before I could start a downward spiral in my mind. He then put the lyrics to a song I hadn’t heard in years into my head. The song “He’s Able” by Deitrick Haddon ministered to my spirit and lifted my thoughts heavenward.
It was through the message of this song and reading Bible verses that support it that God breathed new life into me and reminded me that He is still in control. He let me know I can always take my concerns to Him. The Bible says we are to “Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you” (1 Peter 5:7 NLT). But how often do we keep our worries in our grasp and push God away? Perhaps we think that ruminating over our problems will somehow solve them. I’ve learned that way never works! The good news is that we have a Savior (Jesus Christ) who is exceptionally good at saving us from everyday disasters and ultimately, saving our souls (John 3:16-17) so we can make it into our final d
