Be courageous, even as the world rages, for Jesus has overcome the world and brought his own near to the Father by the Spirit.

Jesus is leaving, and the disciples will grieve, but soon after their joy will be made complete.

We need to learn to be encouraged by the Spirit within us. We know him and his work through his word. We need to be filled with that word. We need to walk in that word.

The world loves a Jesus made in their own image, but hates the Jesus of Scripture. By extension, the world hates Jesus' followers too, but believers have been chosen by Jesus out of the world. Stand fast.

Jesus has given us clear directions in this life. We are called to love one another, and to bear fruit that lasts. We do this not as servants, but as friends.

Apart from Jesus, believers can do no positive kingdom work. If we live and abide in him we will fulfill his mission to the world, and we will bear much fruit. God will "prune" us so that our productivity will increase and be sustained.

We let our hearts be troubled. When our hearts are troubled it is because we are not trusting God. We must trust specific truths about who God is, his promises and the gospel. As we do trust God in these ways, we will glorify God, have peace, and do...

To know Jesus is to know his presence now and forevermore

Jesus warns and comforts his disciples in his final hours. Belief in jesus is belief in God. That faith leads to both comfort and courage.

God's eternal plan flowed through Judas, a moral agent who chose darkness over light. Even Peter found that love and courage were hard to find on this night. In the darkness of Jesus' last evening, evil reigned, but love conquers such evil.
