It would be nice if God would just talk to us in an audible voice and tell us everything that we want to hear and everything that we need to hear. If you want to hear God, read God’s Word. As we read the Bible, God shares his wisdom, knowledge and direction with us. So, lets prepare ourselves in God’s Word.
Every endeavor needs a fully equipped and prepared leader. God prepares people who make themselves available. God prepares the willing each day to impact the world for Christ. God calls people to assignments great and small. If not for Gideon’s faith and availability, the people would have remained under oppression by the enemy. We need to prepare ourselves in prayer, in anticipation for where God calls us.

God called Gideon because God knew that He could trust Gideon. God knew that He could equip and disciple Gideon to lead a revival in Israel and finally, to lead His people to victory. The key to Gideon’s faith was that Gideon knew that God works best through insignificant vessels.

April 04, 2021 Resurrection Power // Easter Sunday
Jesus freely gave his life on the cross. Jesus was the perfect lamb. He was the spotless, sinless sacrifice. The religious leaders of Christ's day were jealous of him. They turned and twisted the truth, they told Friday lies to sentence him to the cross in hopes of getting rid of Jesus, but on the third day, Jesus rose from the grave. Today, Satan is still lying about Jesus, in hopes of casting doubt about the hope that we have in Christ.

These are the same type of lies that the religious people told to send Jesus to the cross, lies to discount and discredit Jesus. These are Friday night lies, lies meant to make people reject Jesus, lies meant to make people doubt his resurrection, and to doubt and reject salvation. Satan knows that his destiny is the lake of fire and he tells Friday night lies, to deceive as many people as possible so that they will spend eternity in hell with him and his demons. Praise God the resurrection truth destroys all Friday night lies and hopelessness.

March 30, 2021 Where Are You in the Crowd? // Palm Sunday
In Luke 19, we have the story of Jesus triumphant entry into Jerusalem. When Jesus made his entry into Jerusalem lots of people wanted to see where all the action was. Many people had come to Jerusalem to take care of business and to make sacrifices in preparation for the Passover. Many people came to Jerusalem hoping to see Jesus perform a miracle.
In a crowd, there are many kinds of people. In the crowd there are a bunch of people that get caught up in the hype, they get caught up in the moment. The people in the crowd who cheered for Jesus were frantic in their enthusiasm. But this would be the same crowd that would call for Jesus’ death in just a few days. There were all kinds of people in this crowd in Jerusalem. There were those who knew that Jesus was the savior of the world. There were those who hoped he was the savior. And there were those who doubted Jesus was the savior. Life is full of questions, but that is the most important question of all is; "Where are you in the crowd?"

How many of you ever got the “you've got a lot of potential speech” by someone? It was usually reserved for trouble makers and under achievers. When God looks at you, he sees your potential. God sees the future and what you will accomplish for him. God took Gideon on a long discipleship journey. When Gideon was full of faith and God’s power, Gideon went and he led his army of 300 men into battle. God called and Gideon because God knew that He could trust Gideon. God knew that He could equip and disciple Gideon to lead a revival in Israel and finally, to lead His people to victory. Gideon was a faithful disciple. Gideon learned lessons all along his journey of discipleship. The key to Gideon’s faith was that Gideon knew that God works best through insignificant vessels.

God sent Gideon to the enemy’s camp so that God could increase his faith. Life is full of many struggles. We are saved by grace. Christ has called each of us to be his disciples and ultimate to be fishers of people. Christian Culture can let you down, but Jesus will never let you down. Let your hope and assurance remain forever and always in Jesus Christ. Our anchor must be in Jesus Christ, not Christian Culture. As a born again-Christian, Christ teaches us to be “all in." Christ saved us to impact the world for him by allowing the Holy Spirit to work through us.

In Judges chapters 6 and 7, the storms of fear and oppression had been raging against Israel. During this storm of violence, the Israelites hid in the mountains and the caves and anyplace that they could find that was secure. But God spoke to an Israelite named Gideon whose family had been a bunch of pagan worshippers. Gideon proved his complete faithfulness to God in
everything that God asked him to do In the midst of the storm, Gideon got up to do God’s will and to lead Israel into battle.
Discipleship is a journey. We must be teachable and moldable in God’s hands. God works through ordinary people who are willing and faithful to him.
