We are what we eat, that's what they say right? But, do you believe it? One of the things I found that helped keep me calm and in a better mood is to get moving more and eat better. We need to find ways to keep our stressors down and to find alternate ways of reducing stress or ways to balance our body, mind, and spirit which I believe is key to us living happier lives. Today's episode is about a couple of quick ways to help preserve them.
Do you crave sugar? Who doesn't love sugar? It's one of those things we couldn't get enough of a kid - do you agree? Candy, candy, and more candy (that was our motto). We couldn't get enough of it, and, our poor parents had to deal with us on a sugar high bouncing off the walls for hours on end after we consumed our candy bar delights.
As time goes by, we learn how bad sugar is for us. For a number of years now I've been trying to quit sugar. I haven't been able to quit it altogether, but I'm trying to become more diligent about the amount of it I consume. Although, I must confess, last night I was pretty bad. My beau and I consumed way too many Haagen Daz ice cream bars. They were on sale and we thought, "Why not?" We deserve a treat yes? But, then, we did it, we ate them and they were, of course, delicious but then my guilt took over. I thought to myself "why did I just let myself do this?", "I've been so good, and now I just ruined it all" has this ever happened to you?
We beat ourselves up when we don't do the right thing. But, one of the things I've learned is that we shouldn't make ourselves unhappy or upset when we make a mistake. It's OK to make them just as long as we can course-correct, which is what I'm doing today.
This book by JJ Virgin has helped me in the sugar craving section. I hope you'll pick up a copy if you have issues battling sugar as I do. She's pretty freakin' amazing.

We always talk about the importance of setting goals and the importance of writing them down and having them on our to-do lists, but, just as important, do you acknowledge them when you reach the goal?
A few years ago, I learned the importance of not only setting our goals but, also keeping a separate journal where you can actually acknowledge those achievements on the important things we set out to do for ourselves, whether it was a personal or a business thing.
Do you keep an acknowledgment journal? A place where you can capture all of those amazing things that happen to you along your journey? Keeping a journal or notebook that is solely dedicated to this purpose is crucial.
Today's episode is about the importance of doing just that.
If you're already doing this, my hat's off to you, and if you aren't, then, its time to get started. You've accomplished a lot of things in your time, now let's start celebrating.
Here's to more amazing things along your journey.
With Love,

When I was younger I had a problem with not finishing what I began. If it didn't hold my attention I'd drop it and move onto the next exciting, shiny thing. Has this ever happened to you?
As I got a bit older and wiser, I learned that this wasn't a good thing. And, the more books I read on self-improvement and personal empowerment, they'd all have a similar perspective on this topic.
I decided I would take a stab at it. I picked one thing and began from start to finish. Once I did this, I found it easier to keep on moving onto the next thing, and then the next. Before I knew it, I was reaching my goals that much more quickly and effectively.
Today's episode is a quick reminder of just that. Is there a bunch of unfinished projects laying around the house? Things you said you want to do, but, never got the information or the tools that you needed to get the job done? Don't let this steal your happiness any longer.
Pick one or two of those projects, dust them off and get back on track until they're completed. It's also important to pick a date as to when you will finish them.
Once you have completed them you will feel a keen sense of accomplishment and in turn, will help you move onto more of things you set out to do that you'll be able to finish successfully.
I wish you the best of luck (I know you got this) and I'll meet you at the finish line.
With Much Love,
Dawn-Marie

Do you feel that you're overworked, over-stressed and that your mind is scattered all over the place? Do you feel achy and your joints hurt? Or, more importantly, you just don't have the energy like you used to or you feel like your pants are getting a bit tighter?
If you've answered "yes" to any of the above, then, you may want to take a quick listen to today's show.
Our guest, Heather Kennedy is a Core Integrated Alignment Yoga Instructor. With her many years of experience, she can teach you how to de-stress, align your body and calm down the mind with her foundational movement classes.
Heather and I met when I was at the Oprah Winfrey's 2020 Vision Tour in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, we had seats next to each other (which was amazing). As the day progressed, I learned more about what Heather does and wanted her to share the information with you, my Lifers, so she's here with us today to share some wisdom on the practice of Yoga and how it can immediately begin to shift your mind, body and spirit.
You can check out a class of hers if you're in the Orlando area (visiting Disney World anytime soon?).

Don't you just love the feeling of a fresh start? Well, that's what ringing in a new year means to all of us. Its a time for a reflection. A time for us to gather our thoughts and make some new decisions that we can use to make our upcoming year a better, bigger, and, bolder one.
I was at the Oprah 2020 Vision Tour in Ft. Lauderdale last weekend, and, boy, oh boy was I totally pumped up after that. It was so much fun, and very inspirational.
One of the topics that Oprah discussed was the importance of setting intentions. I've heard this said in different books, seminars and conferences I've heard before, but, for some reason it was even more inspirational this time around. I usually try to set my intentions several times throughout the year (at least once every quarter or so). And, since we're off to a new decade, I thought I would share it with you.
Today's episode is about setting your intentions, it's a quick reminder on the importance of setting them not only for your personal life, but, for your families as well as for your business so that you will have your best year yet!
Let's make this decade a necessary and luxurious one.
With much love,

Are you one for procrastinating? It was one of my bad character traits until I finally tried to get a grip on it. If you're one for procrastinating, today may be the excuse you need to kick yourself in the pants and get moving on something you've been holding off on doing.
Maybe you're looking to get physically fit and begin working out again or maybe it's as simple as cleaning out the basement or the garage. Even though it may not be that simple, you can simply begin by taking the first step and setting your timer for an hour and start on the project.
Since today is #fightprocrastinationday, take it to heart and begin working on something that can help change your life for the better and get it off your plate.
Let me know how it goes. Leave me a comment.

I was listening to a Joyce Meyer sermon a few weeks ago and she was talking about the difference between being smart and being wise. I thought I should cover it on the show because I feel a lot of us are smart, but, not necessarily wise. Nor, do we all use our god given gift of intuition.
I cover a couple of scenarios in today's podcast and I'm also linking up Episode #002 with Jennifer Cassetta who is the queen of martial arts where she discusses the importance of awareness. So be sure to check it out after you listen to today's show.

Stay smart, stay wise, stay intuitive and stay safe!

We are all in such rush these days. Do you take time to eat breakfast or do you snack on a power bar and think you're good?
I used to skip breakfasts all the time until I began working 16-18 hour days, I found it was really important to start the day off the right way with the protein and energy we need to sustain our days. What is your breakfast ritual? Let me know in the comments.
This is a quick episode to remind you to add a little bit of luxury (on a beer and pretzels budget) for you to be sure to take time to lavish yourself with love and luxury (even if only for a few minutes of your day)
