What is “neurodivergent”? Neurodivergent is a nonmedical term that describes people whose brains develop or work differently for some reason. This means the person has different strengths and struggles from people whose brains develop or work more typically. While some people who are neurodivergent have medical conditions, it also happens to people where a medical condition or diagnosis hasn’t been identified.
No two couples are alike, no two people are alike. How do you, as a vendor, support individuals that are neurodivergent? This can be as simple as tuning into the fact that someone needs a break from the noise, just a few minutes alone to be in the quiet, be with their person, not have 100+ guests in their face…there are even couples we work with that ask “not” to be the center of attention on their wedding day. While that can be a bit challenging, it’s important to pay attention to what someone is mentally and emotionally dealing with on a big event day, to help them get through it easiest.
As a vendor are you asking “what do you need” out of your day or are you saying “this is what we do for you on your day”? In this episode we’ll talk about how to dig deeper into someone’s humanity, to best serve them as our client, our couple, our people that we love so dearly.
Ohhhh where do we start about all things irritating in dealing with wedding vendors? Sometimes you gotta get it out of your system and this episode is the real truth about how our podcast began. We had one rule at the beginning...don't say the "F" word and that got blown out of the water in the first 2 minutes. Just a few of the items: vendors that don't tag on socials, photographers that won't share their work, people that won't collaborate, etc. So sit back and enjoy hearing what frustrates us as vendors.
Ever heard the expression "Stay in your lane."? Well there's a reason for that. You're not always the expert and just because you think something is worth saying, or a good idea, it's not. Collaboration is key, overstepping into someone else's lane is not.
In this episode we're talking about staying in your lane, taking feedback, growing and working together. After all, isn't that what it's all about!
Why your vendor team matters. This is a hot topic of why hiring vendors at a discount, or the dreaded "friend/family" vendor almost never works in your favor. Take this STRONG advice and hire pros to bring your day to life. True professionals understand this, so when you are looking for your dream-team, it's a best practice to stay away from "friend and/or family" vendors. Therefore, in this episode, we're going to chat about why your vendor team matters and some of the things your vendors do, that you never know about, that made your day smooth AND helped gain respect and trust among each other.
Bottom line, remember that you may save upfront, but what does it really cost you in the end.

Ever wondered why you really need to hire a planner? This episode will dive in and help you understand the full benefit of hiring your planner FIRST. Your planner will guide the process, help you understand costs of each wedding category, how to break that out most efficiently, and how quickly that budget will be spent. In short, hire your planner before you do anything else to make the most of your money. And if you think a planner is expensive, you're often right....they can be...BUT think about your planner as an investment vs. a cost, that can also help ease your stress. An "investment" saves you (or makes you money) in the long run. Planners aim to save you money. Let us help!
Editorial style. Documentary style. Photojournalistic style....what the hell does all this mean? I don't know but I know I want a photographer that's good. We've heard (and felt this) before. Not sure what the different type of styles are or how to even know what style you like, this episode will help you understand the differences and how to figure out which one you like best. And why any of this matters in the first place. Hang in there....we got you!
The reason we created this podcast. You are not alone and sometimes we all just need an outlet for points of frustration and celebration. We are working to share education about the industry to hopefully provide insight to fellow vendors and clients alike. Our episodes will always provide the good, the bad and the ugly. It's time to Lift the Veil on the industry AND the process of weddings.
Why you want to hire your vendors sooner than later and why this matters to your overall budget. Hiring a vendor last minute can be detrimental to your overall event feel, level of stress and can even be a waste of money when not done correctly. In this episode, we're addressing the risk of hiring your vendor too late and how that limits our ability to properly assist and serve you.
A somewhat daunting task, vetting vendors can be overwhelming. In this episode, we'll discuss how to tackle the task, things to keep in mind and honestly if you can afford it, hire a planner to do this part for you. It will truly save you on so many levels when it's all over with.
Wedding Trends: Do they matter? Sometimes yes, for the greater good. Other times, they're just flat out annoying and make us feel bad if we can't afford to do what the "trends" tell us to do. In this episode, we dive into some of the industry's popular trends for 2024 and discuss their popularity, practicality and now unrealistic these actually are. Hot tip....the sexiest, most fun, most unique trend is to do what YOU want to do. That makes your wedding truly your's and no one else can compare! Join Kathy & Christina on their very first episode and hear what wedding trends they are all about (or not at all) this 2024 wedding year!
