In episode 5 we talked about how you can picture yourself putting on your helmet to guard your thoughts, today we’re going to look at the Full Armor of God that is found in Ephesians 6.

In the book of Ephesians, Paul is talking to the believers in Ephesus about how to live a Godly life and resist falling back into their old lives.

In verse 6:10 we see Paul tell the believers to be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might, not our might. He follows that in verse 11, saying we can stay strong in the Lord and resist the schemes of the Devil by putting on the whole armor of God. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. 

This is describing spiritual warfare, which is one of the main things that the Light Bearers Series is all about.

On today’s episode, we’re going to talk about being weary and heavy burdened and then we’ll practice releasing our burdens to the only one who can carry them, Jesus.

In this episode we’re going to talk about distractions. There are so many different distractions in our lives in 2025. The biggest one is social media. “Duh, duh, duh!” Back when I used to follow social media, I would fall into a black hole of time and come out two hours later grumpy and wondering what happened to the two hours. I post book updates on Instagram and FB so that people who use those outlets can find me, but I just can’t follow it anymore. I’m still torn about this, because I don’t want my readers to fall into the black hole of time on social media either. 

Before you stop the podcast thinking I've lost my mind or that I’m way off base here, check your phone. Go to “Settings”, then “Screen Time” and just look around in there for a bit. What’s the daily average time you spend on your phone? I know it can’t all be due to me since these podcasts are tens minutes or less. You can also check how much time you spend on each social media app and even more how many times you unlock your phone a day. The number always shocks me. It’s a bad habit we’ve gotten into for comfort. 

On today’s episode, we are finishing up our last episode on Knowing God’s Voice with learning how to have a conversation with Him. How did your time in the Word go this last week? Did you have a verse or a passage to keep with you throughout the week? Do you feel a little closer to Him? Being in the Bible every day is not only possible it’s necessary for life and Godliness.

We’re going to continue being in the Word every day, listening to God in the quiet, and today we are going to add having a conversation with Him. We have started touching on this already, with two simple questions we asked about the scripture we were reading this last week. But I want to dive a little deeper so that we get more and more comfortable listening to and discerning His voice.

On today’s episode we are going to continue our 3-part series Knowing God’s Voice, by knowing Him through His Word. How did your practice go over this last week? Were you able to ask the Lord to speak? Did you hear anything? If it was uplifting, did you believe it was God or dismiss it as your own thoughts? 

I’m here to tell you that I hear from God all the time and I know many fellow believers that do as well. Are we more Godly than you if you don’t hear from God easily, no, we’ve just practiced more. My 9-year-old hears from God because he has been practicing, also his childlike faith makes it easier to believe the good things God speaks over him. I promise, if you practice, you’ll get there too.

On today’s episode we’re starting a three-part training on Knowing God's Voice. Our training will include learning how God speaks, training ourselves to be able to discern His voice, affirming what we hear with scripture, and learning how to have daily conversation with Him.

Today we’re going to focus on how God speaks and learning to embrace the silence. In The Awakening, we see Sarah learning to embrace the quiet moments, soaking in the beauty, and resting in silence while she is in Ganheela. Also, Pneuma is training Sarah on how to sift through the lies that she’s heard in her life. Learning to know God's voice is how we discern the lies of the enemy in our lives.  

Scripture tells us that God Speaks and Jesus assured us in John 14-16 that the Holy Spirit was a gift that would continue to help us learn and discern the voice of God once He was gone from this earth. Jesus said in John 10 that His sheep hear His voice, know it, and follow Him. It’s crucial for the sheep (that’s us) to hear his voice and know his voice for us to be in relationship with Him and for Him to be able to protect us from the enemy.

On today’s episode, we’re going to talk about relationships. And not just any relationship, but the most important relationship we will ever have. The relationship we have with God. What does your relationship look like with Father God? Do you picture Him sitting up in heaven judging you? Is He far away? Have you ever tried to picture God?

A.W. Tozer, a brilliant Christian theologian and lover of Christ, says, “What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.” That should put a check in our spirit. What we think about God is VERY important.
