He talks about the story in John 1, with Phillip and Nathaniel, and how we should all look past the faults of mankind and look for something in people that we cherish

John 1:43-51

Pastor John Townley preaches on resisting the short term thrill. We as humans can often fall into the honey trap, all of us are vulnerable and as James says; we mustn’t blame God. Instead, John teaches that we can enjoy the three honeys of this world; Money, Sex and Power when handled in the right way they can bring fulfillment, blessing and empowerment but only in a Godly environment. 

Pastor Pete Godfrey preaches on being a child of God and on seeing ourselves how God sees us with reference to James 1:9-10 .

Guest speaker Pastor Michael Bretton looks at the book of James and how it teaches us to delight in the hard times because trials will come – so we should see them as opportunities. We learn that we shouldn’t be surprised when hard times come and Jesus never said it would be easy, but we can find Joy in God’s promise.

Pastor Pete Godfrey kicks off our new sermon series ‘Just Do It’.  In today’s sermon we learn about James’ doubt that his own brother was the Son of God and his journey from being a sceptic to being a servant. We learn how even though we can doubt God and be sceptical of what he asks of us, we need to cross the line of faith, stop putting it off, seize the moment and Just Do It.

Pastor John Townley preaches on the fact that even with amount of potential that God has ordained for each of us we still ‘opt out’ and choose to settle for the much less rather than take hold of the much more. He discusses the price and productivity and how when we truly engage with God, he will win our hearts and not to walk away from us.

Pastor Mark Davy preaches on the words written by Solomon in verses 1-3 and 15-18 of Ecclesiastes, explaining the harsher details of one of the Bible’s bleaker lessons and how, as Solomon explains; ‘Everything is meaningless if you look for meaning in it outside of God’.
