Welcome to the Lighthouse podcast series. Lighthouse is a talent development program of FOTODOK where 10 emerging photographers have worked on a new project. The participants are artists who relate to the medium of photography and all offer a new perspective on urgent topics in society. The participants of the talent development program work with a variety of themes such as the colonial history of the Netherlands, the representation of Muslim women, the way in which the everyday potato tells us more about who we are and how hearing loss affects human communication during a pandemic.

Welkom bij de podcast serie van Lighthouse. Lighthouse is een talentontwikkelingsprogramma van FOTODOK waar 10 opkomende fotografen hebben gewerkt aan een nieuw project. De deelnemers zijn kunstenaars die zich verhouden tot het medium fotografie en allemaal een nieuw perspectief bieden op urgente onderwerpen in de samenleving. 

De deelnemers van het talentontwikkelingsprogramma werken met uiteenlopende thema’s zoals bijvoorbeeld de koloniale geschiedenis van Nederland, de representatie van moslimvrouwen, de manier waarop de alledaagse aardappel ons meer vertelt over wie we zijn en hoe gehoorverlies de menselijke communicatie beïnvloed tijdens een pandemie.
