Think back - if you could name one period of time in your life that was the happiest, when would you say it was? 

Were you on vacation in a beautiful setting? Was it during the holidays, surrounded by loved ones? Was it a time when you were free of worries and concerns? 

In today’s podcast, Karen, Kellie, and Roslyn discuss the book “Never A Happier Time” that describes the days of Moroni depicted in the war chapters in the Book of Mormon. One verse in Alma chapter 50 reads thus: 

“...behold there never was a happier time among the people of Nephi, since the days of Nephi, than in the days of Moroni…”* 

How could that be? The people were always either at war or preparing for war, and yet it could be said that there “never was a happier time” in their history? How is it possible?

In this book, Reuben Aiton and Maurice Harker take the reader through the war chapters and share five key fighting strategies which they assure “always lead to victory.”

What do you feel after you utter that word? 

Do you feel like you have just ended a powerful interaction with your Creator? And that you are coming away strengthened, with instructions to follow, and with a heart filled with more courage - and peace?  

The Bible Dictionary in the Latter-day Saint edition of the King James Version of the Bible defines prayer as “the act by which the will of the Father and the will of the child are brought into correspondence with each other. The object of prayer is not to change the will of God, but to secure for ourselves and for others blessings that God is already willing to grant, but that are made conditional on our asking for them.”

Elder Holland stated, “We are at war…*” , so, for our protection and that of those around us, we need to pray like warriors pray! In this week’s episode, Karen, Marquelle, Kellie and Roslyn discuss the “Warrior Prayer”, and how it helps us approach prayer from that perspective - to help us fight our daily battles - and win. Warrior prayers also help us to bring our will into correspondence with God’s, and to “secure for ourselves and others the blessings that He is already willing to grant...” 

A Warrior Prayer is unique because it is specific, and we are seeking with the express intent to follow whatever inspiration we receive in answer to that prayer. 

Come learn how to pray like a warrior,  and to have your prayers become a way to access the power and peace that Heaven has promised us all along.

When  you want to learn a skill, what do you expect of a coach? 

Is the coach-learner relationship different from a simple friendship?

Do you expect more of a coach than you do of 

Do you hope that they will tell you the truth - even if it’s uncomfortable?

Do you expect more of a coach than you do of a casual friend? 

Do you want them to invite you to do hard things, so you can develop and grow?  

Would you like them to give you clear instructions, and always be near to help you when you feel confused or unsure? 

Would it be great if they could share their strength with you while you are learning, and make it possible for you to do things you simply cannot do on your own? 

Do you hope they can be an example you can follow, in every way? 

In today’s podcast, we discuss what it’s like to have the ideal Coach - one who knows you intimately, and knows your potential and your limits, and is willing to help you in every possible way to reach your highest potential - while still being patient with your weaknesses and your foibles. 

Kelly, Marquelle, and Roslyn discuss how Jesus Christ is our Captain, our Coach, and our best life mentor. His perfect example is something we can always refer to when we have decisions to make. By learning about Him, we can see how to love without judgment; how to respond with peace to conflict; how to be a peacemaker and avoid anger and malice; and how to be inclusive to all of God’s children. 

One of the greatest gifts Jesus Christ offers us is the cleansing, enabling power of His Atonement. Through that divine Gift, we can access divine power we could not have any other way. And by constantly relying upon that Gift, we can finally be redeemed, and become all that He knows we can become. 

Join us and be reminded of the inestimable worth of accepting the Savior’s offer to be your Captain, your Mentor, and your Redeemer.
