This week's episode was so much fun and got us right into the holiday spirit! We first talked about our rather lackluster week by sharing our low, medium, and highlights of the week. Next, we talk about how we navigate the holidays as Jews and how much we love the holiday/Christmas time! We share our favorite holiday tradition as a family as well as an adorable story of my mom's proposal that happened on Christmas Eve. We also share our favorite holiday-themed movies, TV shows, books and more! Finally, we talk about what we're into for the week and close out the episode.

For this episode, we are kicking off the celebration of Jamee's 50th birthday by talking about all that the last 50 years has given her. Before this, we go into our "lights" of the week but spoiler alert: they are home and recording in person for the foreseeable future woohoo! From age 0 to age 50, we discuss her life decade by decade where Jamee shares a takeaway, story, or just general wisdom that she learned throughout those ten years that has shaped her into the person that she is today. Not much of a surprise, but so much of Jamee's life has translated to Lauryn's as well. Finally, we talk about what she hopes for the next chapter of her life and then share what we're into for the week.

For this week of LMLD, we are circling back to a previous episode. This time Lauryn is quizzing Jamee on how well she knows her. Through the process, we definitely learn a lot of exciting info about Lauryn, but I'm sure it comes at no surprise that Jamee really does know her. Not only is it the 10th episode of LMLD, but we are ECSTATIC to announce that Joe Biden was named the President-Elect of the United States along with his running-mate Madam Vice President Elect Kamala Harris. Although we tried to come up with our "lights" of the week that didn't consist of anything related to the election, we all know that it was the #1 thing on our minds all week long. Jamee and Lauryn break down more about what the week was like for them, culminating with this sweet, sweet victory. They flashback to 2016 and the emotions that were running high during that time period, and how they began to take more action and become more politically-mindful since that election. They also share a little bit about what they feel the future is going to hold, and the hope that was re-instilled in them with this upcoming administration. Finally, they share what they're into for the week and the overwhelming sense of relief, hope, and excitement that they feel after a long and stressful week.

It's a brand new episode of LMLD and we're keeping things silly and lighthearted for this week. Overall, it was a solid week for both Lauryn and Jamee as they share their low, medium, and high light. This week's topic is all about how Lauryn and her brother Max were raised to be the most "(pop)cultured" kids around! Jamee and her husband Cory taught Max and Lauryn the ins and outs of the 70s and 80s culture, and how each kid gravitated differently towards the time period. From "The Brady Bunch," to Bon Jovi to the Muppets, Max and Lauryn got a big taste of the time period, and also learning more about their parents along the way. Throughout the episode, Jamee and Lauryn share funny stories from Lauryn and Max's childhood and all of the obsessions that were passed down to them. Nonetheless, learning the pop culture of this time period shaped the kids into who they are today and couldn't imagine life without being immersed into their upbringing. Jamee and Lauryn close out the show by sharing what their into for the week, and just how important it is to make a difference in the world around us.

Welcome back to LMLD episode 5! Jamee and Lauryn can't wait to share their "lights" of the week and discuss this week's topic which is all about social media. First, they talk about how they got their start on social media--aka Jamee as a Facebook "pioneer" and all of Lauryn's begging which finally paid off. Next, they discuss some of the positives for social media and some of the good that it has brought them. However, the meat of the episode is really discussing the dangers of social media and how it can be detrimental to one's mental health. For Lauryn, she has felt that it has been problematic for her experiences not just in college, but even dating as early as middle school. It is definitely a harder generation to live in with social media than when Jamee was young. The two of them share some tips on how they have learned to live with the negatives of social media and how to not let it consume their lives. Finally, they talk about what their into for the week, with a discussion on some great affirmations you can start to implement into your life!
