Episode 11 was recorded in a rustic Air BnB in Stanton, Kentucky, which happens to be a stone’s throw away from the GAS Bowstring facility.
The GAS Bowstring team hosted the A3G Initiative and our 2024 recipient, Dustin Pruett, for the bow build and one on one coaching for Dustin. To sum the event up in one word, Powerful!

In Part 3 of 7 of this Non-Resident Archery Elk Hunt Series, Chris and I discuss our set-ups. What bows and accessories we are each shooting, our arrow builds and what our shooting prep looks like.
In archery, your bow, arrow and practice routine are as important as food, water and shelter is to the backcountry hunter. Every aspect of the experience requires focus and proper execution. This episode provides insight as to "why" we are using certain pieces of equipment and how we are preparing for the "shot".

Barbells and Broadheads, founded by Alex Schaefer and Cori Lease, is a Wisconsin based outdoor fitness and nutrition "soon to be" husband and wife team. Previously living an unhealthy lifestyle, the couple decided they wanted to transform their lives and outdoor hobbies through functional fitness and nutrition.
LIMB-itless Outdoors met Alex and Cori on the side of a damp and muddy ski slope at Tyrol Basin, WI. All parties were participating in the Beast Mode Archery 8-Hour Challenge. Friendly banter and the topic of Fireball turned the brief encounter into a friendship.
Their journey led to the creation of "Barbells and Broadheads". Barbells and Broadheads is a social media platform created by the motivated couple devoted to helping others who wish to pursue a similar path. You can join them for free weekly meal preps, discuss fitness plans and activities and all things 1st Phorm products.

Some turkey hunts strike the friction call a bit raspier than others...
This Hunt Series wraps up the 2024 Virginia turkey season with East Coast Nick and LIMB-itless Outdoors packed into what they refer to as "Revolution Canyon".
The 5 day/4 night trip was cut short by Mother Nature's threat of extraneous rainfall (as in inches in hours), and birds that just wouldn't talk. Not that it requires vocal birds to get the job done, but waiting for hours in ambush while visualizing the schematics for Noah's ark, is not how East Coast Nick wished to harvest his first bird.
Needless to say, this 3 part Hunt Series (this being Part 2 of 3) is filled with quality banter, bashing and brainstorming over lessons learned.

One of my favorite aspects of a solid day's grind in the backcountry is the meal at the end of the day. The bag of freeze dried you choose may either add to your enjoyment or contribute immensely to your misery.
Listen in as we discuss a hidden gem of a US-based backcountry meal company nestled in the mountains of Pennsylvania, On Point Adventure Foods (OPAF). OPAF is defying the industry trend of large fancy bags full of over-salted ingredients from who knows where with locally-sourced meat and vegetables from PA farmers and 4-H groups. The meals the husband and wife team prepare are some of their very own favorite recipes, making your dinning experience more like a "home cooked" meal.
In this episode, your going to hear some key options OPAF offers, such as custom recipes, options to add your own brand of collagen peptides to each bag, fruit and vegetable smoothies and a couple new meals to choose from later this summer.
