Our guests this month are Mike Kuzma & Boomer Peterson. They will be sharing their knowledge and experience with commercial real estate investing.

Mike - Drawing on his commercial law, real estate, and tax experience, Mike acts as the chief managing officer and general counsel of KL Capital in addition to being a private practice attorney at the national law firm of Hilgers Graben, PLLC where he works on complex commercial litigation and transactions. He graduated summa cum laude from Nebraska Wesleyan University, earned a law degree with honors from the University of Nebraska College of Law, and was awarded a David L. Boren Fellowship to be a visiting honors scholar at Temple University Beasley School of Law. A life-long learner, Mike now hones his skills by teaching seminars, undergraduate classes and podcasting about real estate, business competition, and TT&E law. Prior to practicing law, Mike trained at KPMG and Union Bank & Trust learning asset management, trust fund administration, and complex transactions.

Boomer - With over 10 years and $200 million of closings as a commercial real estate agent and managing partner of Pinnacle Commercial Group, Boomer leads KL’s asset acquisition strategy. Prior to building his deep knowledge of the midwestern commercial real estate market, Boomer was an investment analyst at Merrill Lynch, where he watched the credit market collapse in 2008. During this experience, he realized the value of wealth building with tangible investments in commercial real estate, joining Pinnacle Commercial Group shortly thereafter. Boomer has a Masters in Sports Management from West Virginia University, and a Bachelors Degree in Communications and Entrepreneurship and Social Enterprise at Wake Forest University where he was a four-year letter winner in both football and track and field.

Though Peter Katt may introduce himself as a “recovering attorney,” he maintains his law license in Nebraska. When active in the legal practice he was a partner with Pierson, Fitchett, Hunzeker, Blake & Katt from 1989 until 2007 and, and at Baylor Evnen LLP, from 2007 to 2016. He is a founding member of INA Group LLC, an investment company focused on tax liens and commercial real estate, past president of the Charter Title & Escrow expansion into the Omaha market, a principal in several residential land development companies, and a partner in several Omaha home building companies. Mr. Katt has clear insight into the housing market and the regulatory barriers to housing affordability. He is an active participant in obtaining land entitlements for projects in both Lincoln and the Omaha Metro, keeping a close eye on local government involvement in residential and commercial developments. Mr. Katt values connecting with people, living with a curious and learning mindset, and always willing to evaluate innovative business ideas. He resides in Lincoln with his wife Donalyn, a former preschool and elementary teacher, and enjoys working with his two sons in the real estate and construction worlds.

Our guest speaker to kick off the New Year, will be Matt Larson. Since Matt is located 5 Hours away on the Iowa/Illinois border he won’t be joining us in person but he will be live from his lake house via Zoom.

Matt is a Midwest guy, originally from the Quad Cities. Before real estate he was a low paid machinist, supplying parts to companies like John Deere. Over his 16 year real estate career he has built a very impressive resume. Currently he has 750 units under management, renovates 15 plus homes per month and has completed over 4,000 real estate transactions. Matt has an in-depth knowledge of investing, from single family homes to million dollar commercial properties.

Matt’s real passion now is teaching new and experienced investors tactical strategies so they can take their business to the next level. His trainings are extremely thorough, with the exact roadmap to get you to where you want to go with zero BS and no fluff.

This month, Matt will be teaching us the process to get 10 motivated seller leads a day. It’s not the list or the messaging, it's more than that. While others struggle to get leads right now, Matt is bringing in dozens of leads a day. All you need to do to get more leads is to just show up, take notes and implement what he shows you. It’s that simple.

Jayson has been in residential and commercial real estate, development, and new construction for over 20 years, and needless to say, has made some mistakes along the way. Jayson is a loving and devoted husband and father. He and his wife Nicki, have been married for 24 years and together they have a wonderful and talented 16 year old son, Sam and an adorable boxer, Theo. Some fun facts about Jayson…..He is passionate and a bit of a guru about mid to late 60’s Ford Mustangs. If he could, he would be a mechanic at the Gas Monkey Garage. Be sure to challenge him on his knowledge of cars! One of his favorite pastimes is grabbing his fishing pole and heading to the lake with his son Sam for a day on the water.
