On today's episode of "In Stride," Sinead talks to entrepreneurer and horsewoman Linda Parelli.
Linda was born in Singapore to a Scottish Father and a Swiss mother. She moved to Sydney, Australia with her family when she was 12 years old and got her first horse the following year. Linda's first job as a young adult was as Education Director for Ella Bache, a French skin care and beauty device brand. Linda has called herself a 'learnaholic,' and during the 12 years she held the position of Education Director, she was also studying accelerated learning methods and personal development programs.
Linda's return to horses came in 1989. She was in her early 30s and had a hot thoroughbred named Regalo who led her to sign up for a clinic with American cowboy Pat Parelli. In 1993, Linda moved from Australia to the US, and in 1995 she and Pat got married. They traveled throughout the US and Canada giving clinics, and ultimately created Parelli Natural Horsemanship and the Parelli method. Parelli Natural Horsemanship became a worldwide brand and phenomenon that paved the way for the natural horsemanship industry.
A few years ago, Linda and Pat went their separate ways. Linda has since co-founded the Happy Horse Happy Life training program and the Pegasus Personal Growth program.
