We're back... and fortunately... the Tampa Bay Lightning have LOST a series for the first time since 2019. Unfortunately... Don Sweeney is back... for multiple years. We recap the month of June as Bruce Cassidy becomes the Head Coach of the Vegas Golden Knights, Patrice Bergeron is rumored to be returning on a one-year deal, and the Bruins have been interviewing many candidates for their head coach vacancy! We look ahead to the draft before looking at CapFriendly ArmChair GM trades, and taking your questions!
We were planning on recording an episode talking about the bruins injury updates, Bergeron winning the Selke, NHL conference finals & Celtics talk.... but then, out of nowhere, the Bruins announced that they have FIRED Bruce Cassidy, in a stunning and unexpected move. Bruce Cassidy is not to blame for Management and ownership's lack of ability to put forth a true contender. Don Sweeney has routinely put the Bruins a step behind and is not ever held accountable, as he, for some awful reason, is going to be given a contract extension. Where do the Bruins go from here, especially with all of these injuries? We discuss just how good Bruce Cassidy was as coach of the Bruins, and wrap up the episode taking listener questions.
We're back, and here to discuss everything to do with the Bruins offseason coming up! We talk about a bunch of different notes coming from the Bruins locker cleanout press conferences, such as Matt Grzelcyk's need for surgery, Bergeron's unwillingness to play anywhere else, Jake DeBrusk taking time to decide his future, and so much more! As well, we then get into Don Sweeney and Cam Neely, and rant about the Bruins severe need for change at the GM position, and maybe the organization as a whole. But, naturally, that means the Bruins are planning on re-signing Sweeney... woo hoo... We also take a look at the Bruins needs this offseason - specifically at forward - and also go through some CapFriendly Armchair GM's to have a good laugh. As always, we end the episode with listener questions!
We're back, and after an emotional series, the Bruins fall to the hurricanes in game 7. The Bruins just didn't have enough scoring to get past a very good canes team. We look back on game 7, and the series as a whole, and discuss the bruins fatal flaw, which just so happens to be a recurring theme. We briefly take a look at the bruins offseason situation, as this offseason is setting up to be a wild one. Was that Patrice Bergeron's final game as a Bruin? What do the Bruins need to do to contend, if Bergeron stays? Should Don Sweeney and Bruce Cassidy return? We also check in on the other first round series, the Leafs latest choke, and read off some really dumb CapFriendly armchair trades! We wrap up the episode taking your thoughts on the game, series, and season as a whole. Thank you for listening to us this season.
We're back... and the Bruins found a way to force a Game 7! Charlie McAvoy appeared out of thin air, returning to the Bruins lineup for Game 5 randomly! We talk about his return in that game,... and nothing else that happened there. We then shift our focus mainly to Game 6 where the Bruins offensive depth came up clutch, with goals from Erik Haula & Derek Forbort notably. Hampus Lindholm also returned for this game and looked good, and we discuss Bruce Cassidy's decision to sit Matt Grzelcyk in his place. We go through all the excitement of Game 6, and then look ahead to the pivotal Game 7 in Carolina. Can the Bruins find a way to turn the tables on them, and change the trends of the series? Will Jeremy Swayman come up big? Tune in to listen to us talk about all that and more! We wrap up the episode by taking listener questions as always!
We're back... and so are the Bruins! The Bruins completely turn the tables on the Hurricanes and win games 3 + 4, and we're all tied up as the series shifts back to Carolina for a pivotal game 5. The Reunited Perfectio- top line is back, and never skipped a beat, as their excellent play leads the Bruins to the wins. Hampus Lindholm continues to miss games recovering from the game 2 hit he took, and now, just before warmups... Charlie McAvoy lands on the NHL COVID list, and misses game 4... and seemingly will miss game 5, and maybe more. Be honest, did you think the Bruins had a chance without McAvoy? Because, we didn't either. We recap games 3 + 4 and look ahead to game 5, and speculate if either team gets anyone back from injury. Is Freddie Andersen going to return for game 5? Is that a good thing or a bad thing? We wrap up the episode by taking a brief look at the other series going on, as well as take listener questions.
We are back... and the Bruins are down 2-0 to the Hurricanes, and everything seems off with the B's. Tune in for a recap of the first two games, with a focus on the very dumb things from game 2. David Pastrnak unintentionally hits and injures Antti Raanta, prompting Hurricanes coach Rod Brind'Amour to infer that the Bruins are intentionally trying to hurt the hurricanes goalies. The Hurricanes were not phased by that as the referees gave them NINE (9) powerplays, and seemed to have a bias to only call a Bruin when scrums occurred. The Bruins didn't do themselves any favors, as they once again fell into an early deficit. Hampus Lindholm's health is in question after a borderline hit from Svechnikov. It truly could not get much worse for the B's. Now. Where do the Bruins go from here? Who needs to come into the lineup, who should start in net in game 3, and what the hell needs to happen for the bruins to have a chance in this series? We also take a brief look at the other series going on, as well as take listener questions.
We're back... and so is playoff hockey! Tune in as we preview the Bruins taking on the Carolina Hurricanes in what should be a very close series! Which team has the better forwards, defense, and goaltending? We take a look at the health of both teams, as the Hurricanes are going to be without Frederik Andersen for at least Game 1. We give our totally unbiased pick for this series, and take a league-wide look at the other matchups and give our thoughts and predictions as we head into another exhilarating Stanley Cup Playoff. We briefly chat about the Boston Celtics and their playoff run, and wrap up the episode by taking listener questions!
We are back! We are joined by Zach Jezioro (@ZachJ13_ on Twitter) to discuss the Sabres and their outlook going forward, as their season has now come to an end. We talk about their biggest needs as they look to make a big push in the Atlantic Division next season. We also talk about the Bruins poaching Linus Ullmark from them, Taylor Hall & Anders Bjork, and just have some overall fun talking about hockey!
We're back! The Bruins, for ONCE, did not lose on the night we record! Tune in as we discuss the incredible tribute Montreal had after the passing of Canadiens' legend Guy Lafleur. We also touch on the Bruins going 4-1 in their last 5 games, and their only loss coming at the hands of a Casey DeSmith 52 save shutout. Pastrnak, Lindholm, and Ullmark return as well, but Pastrnak and Lindholm did not make the trip to Montreal as they get eased back in the lineup as the playoffs are just one week away... If you had to pick one team for the Bruins to play in round 1, who would it be? and why is the answer Carolina? Who is the B's starting goalie for Game 1? We wrap the episode up taking listener questions!
