These days, the term hospitality is synonymous with experience, in other words a series of perceptions and emotions that the guest experiences during the stay in the hotel or resort. Various elements that come together to create this sensation: the architecture of the building, the interior design, the exterior and the lighting systems that envelope the hospitality structure in its entirety.
The choice of the different lighting fixtures is important to create the right atmosphere in the spaces, considering the specific needs of the various areas being lit.
Stefano Bragonzi, of the Bergamo-based firm, Switch, talks about the importance of lighting design in museums and art galleries.
There are two types of necessary lighting: general and precision. The first is implemented to create a perfect balance of the environment, avoiding disturbances and glare for the visitors, whereas the second takes on a central role in enhancing the displayed works.
Therefore, the selection of the right products and their correct orientation constitutes an extremely delicate phase of the project.
Parola chiave? Rispetto.

In fact, in the technical lighting design phase, an indispensable step is the analysis of all aspects, problems and limitations that characterise the places of worship in order to be able to choose the most suitable luminaires to maintain a harmonious atmosphere.

Marta Mannino, of the Bergamo-based firm, Switch Studio, talks about the central role of lighting in places of worship and museums, environments where the light becomes the director in creating the most suitable atmosphere for contemplation, a common goal in both places.
In holy places, where it has a symbolic value reminiscent of divinity, it is useful during liturgical moments for orientation within the space and, no less important, to make it easier for worshippers to read.
In museums, on the other hand, light play an important role to enhance the exhibited works, but without damaging them. Therefore, it is fundamental to create a customised design for each museum, gallery or show in order to create the right lighting that will allow the visitors to fully enjoy the experience.
