LINX staged its final in-person member meeting before the Coronavirus lockdown in February 2020. Since then, there have been eight LINX member meetings, seven of which have been virtual only.
Agendas had to be stripped back. Where once we were hosting two-day events, they were condensed down to a couple of hours. It’s totally changed the way this industry operates on a personal level where nearly all our meetings have involved a screen as we worked from home.
The good news is that things are beginning to change. Since restrictions have begun to ease, LINX staff have attended a number of events around the UK, and abroad.
For this episode of LINXcast we speak with Inga Turner, of the LINX Business Development team, about being able to attend industry conferences again.
What was her experience of meeting people again face-to-face, what was the travel experience like, and what precautions were put in place by organisers because of Covid restrictions?
Did she notice any differences in the way people interacted with each other? What tips does she have for people thinking about attending industry events again?
LINX will be attending a number of international events in the coming months. Here is a selection:
- SEE - South-East Europe Ripe Regional Meeting (Ljubljana, Slovenia - 11-12 April)
- Peering Days (Athens, Greece - 26-28 April)
- International Telecoms Week (Washington, Virgina - 9-12 May)
- Global Peering Forum 2022 (National Harbour, Maryland 11-13 May)
- RIPE84 (Berlin, Germany - 16-20 May)
- LINX116 (Manchester, UK - 26-27 May)
