Liquid Church

U2's music is a source of faith & hope for all sorts of people-- from those turned off by "organized" religion to lifelong Christians hungry to change our world for good.

"Walk On" is a powerful song about the stuff of true faith-- putting one's trust in what can't be seen and walking on in the face of adversity.

Listen in as Pastor Tim describes how U2's music can serve as the soundtrack for a life of living faith.

Part 4 of the series "Rock God: Discovering God in the Music."

When life bottoms out-- a relationship blows up, our finances tank, or things just go sour-- most folks finally turn to a last resort: prayer.

But does God hear the prayers of those who've intentionally run from Him... or blatantly ignored His call on their life?

Listen in as Pastor Tim discusses God's character via the 80s anthem "Livin' on a Prayer" by NJ's own Bon Jovi. Prepare to smile as big hair meets a big God!

Part 3 of the series "Rock God: Discovering God in the Music."

"Born to Run" by Bruce Springsteen is the quintessential road song-- an epic anthem capturing the desire to escape, to run, to flee everything in the world that closes us in. Many people spend their lives running from a lot of things... including God.

The Bible tells an incredible tale about a "man who ran"-- just an ordinary guy named Jonah who learned one of life's most important lessons: you can run from God... but you can't outrun God.

Listen in as Pastor Tim shares some lessons from a man who ran and get ready to run in a new direction.

Part 2 of “Rock God: Discovering God in the Music.”

"My Generation" by the Who is a signature song of the Sixties-- an angry anthem that perfectly captured a generation's discontent with the status quo. Discontent is not a bad thing-- in fact, God often plants a "holy discontent" within a generation to change the world for good.

What’s the one aspect of this broken world that-- when you see it, touch it, or get near it-- you just can’t stand? Extreme poverty? AIDS? War? Addiction? Abused children? Homelessness?

Listen in as Pastor Tim shares an adaptation of a message by Bill Hybels entitled “Holy Discontent”-- and prepare to feed the fire that can change a generation for good.

Huge thanks to everyone who invested countless hours serving our neighbors in Morristown this month! The results of Liquid's Outflow outreaches to the Poor, the Professionals, and the Partygoers were amazing!

All told, Liquid volunteers served:

• 4,789 bottles of water to Day Laborers, Commuters, and people on the street

• 913 pairs of work gloves to immigrant workers (as well as breakfast bags)

• 1,240 slices of pizza to late-night bar hoppers & partyers

Beyond the numbers were the faces of REAL PEOPLE who were deeply touched by these simple acts of kindness offered “no strings attached.” We’re astounded how God continues to use little things done with GREAT love to impact lives.

Thanks for investing your time & passion letting our neighbors know that they matter deeply to God... and to our church!

From his cell in the Flossenburg concentration camp, Dietrich Bonhoeffer wrote: "The church is only the church when it exists for others." Unfortunately, many well-meaning Christians fail to see the deep needs of others around them because they suffer from "Roof Tile Syndrome" (Mark 2). Listen in as Pastor Tim invites everyone to "wreck the roof" in order to bring those around us into the presence of Jesus.

Whenever God's people go out to serve others, there lurks an ugly enemy just waiting to spoil our service. It's called "mixed motives"-- the hidden desire to be recognized, praised, or celebrated for our good works.

A heart emptied of self-seeking is essential if our service to others is to be truly Christ-centered. Learn how to intentionally shift the focus from us... to God.

What do a single mom, 16 kids, a 90-yr old widow, a young dad, and new teeth have in common? Listen in as Pastor Tim unveils our 6 Extreme Makeover projects for this summer!
