Liquid Sunshine Radio Show - Funk, Groove, Disco & Beats - All The Good Stuff!!

Hello Groovers,

This week's Liquid Sunshine is a love letter in two parts—starting with an hour of slow-burning soul that wraps around you like an embrace, from Donald Byrd's tender "Dominoes" through Leon Ware's eternal rocking and RAMP's daylight dreams. Then the energy shifts as the second hour lifts that intimate feeling skyward with gospel-tinged house anthems from Kenny Bobien, Masters At Work, and Bobby Winans that turn private devotion into collective celebration. It's two hours that move from whispered affection to hands-in-the-air exaltation—proof that love sounds just as good when you're holding someone close as when you're shouting it from the rooftops.

Hello Groovers,

This week's Liquid Sunshine replays last night's wild ride at 'Global Sounds from the Underground'—a boundary-breaking set that ping-pongs from Balkan hotstepping to Afrobeat fire, Dutch dub experiments to Persian-tinged funk, with zero regard for geography or genre rules. From William Onyeabor's synth-funk and Fela Kuti's revolutionary grooves to Doe Maar's Dutch dubby reggae and the Mauskovic Dance Band's psychedelic heat, every track brings its own flavor while keeping the energy locked in that sweet spot between hypnotic and explosive. It's two hours of proof that the underground sounds best when it's truly global—no borders, no boundaries, just pure groove from every corner of the planet.

Hello Groovers,

Sunset Glow or Moonlight Flow

This week's Liquid Sunshine is all about preparation—road-testing tracks for an upcoming festival set and getting the listeners to help decide what belongs in a lush Sunday afternoon slot versus deep-in-the-night territory. From the breezy disco edits and soulful grooves of Ghosted and Faya Combo that scream golden-hour sunshine, to the darker, trippier energy of Green Velvet and Intravenus Da Milo built for late-night dance floor hypnosis, each track gets put through its paces. It's two hours of A/B testing in real time—Sunday sunset or Saturday 3am, you tell me which is which.

Hello Groovers,

This week's Liquid Sunshine looks back at the best jazz releases of 2025, focusing on the spiritual and exploratory sounds that defined the year—music that ebbs and flows like ocean waves, from Makaya McCraven's hypnotic rhythms to The Circling Sun's cosmic expansions. The set moves through contemporary innovators like Levitation Orchestra and Chip Wickham before settling into timeless classics from Miles Davis, Pharaoh Sanders, and Donald Byrd that have soundtracked the year's listening. It's a journey through both new discoveries and old favorites, united by that searching, transcendent quality that makes jazz feel like both meditation and celebration.

Hello Groovers,

This week's Liquid Sunshine is a heat-soaked journey perfect for Australia's sweltering summer—a global mix of sunshine grooves from Roy Ayers' classic opener through Brazilian samba, Afrobeat, Latin boogaloo, and disco-funk. With temperatures rising and Manuka Pool on the horizon, the set moves effortlessly across continents and decades, each track selected for that essential quality: music that makes the heat feel good instead of oppressive. It's two hours of pure warmth—the kind of mixed bag that only works when every flavor complements the next and the vibe stays locked in that sweet spot between laid-back and irresistibly danceable.

Hello Groovers,

This week's Liquid Sunshine explores the raw, emotional power of funky blues rock, starting with the heart-wrenching intensity of Dusty Springfield and Nancy Sinatra before diving deep into the genre's grittiest moments. From Janis Joplin's soul-baring wails to Led Zeppelin's slow-burning blues, and through the swampy funk of Tony Joe White and Rare Earth, the set traces a lineage of music that refuses to hold back. It's two hours of unfiltered emotion and dirty grooves—the kind of songs that hit you right in the chest and don't apologize for it.
