Liquid Sunshine Radio Show - Funk, Groove, Disco & Beats - All The Good Stuff!!

Hello Groovers,

This week's Liquid Sunshine is pure tenderness—two hours of slow, beautiful love songs that stop you in your tracks and make you feel everything. From Nina Simone's timeless elegance and Roberta Flack's heart-stopping "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" to Barry White's orchestral devotion and contemporary soul from Moonchild and Durand Jones, every track carries that rare quality of being both intimate and grand. It's the kind of music that doesn't need to rush or impress—it just opens your chest and reminds you what love songs are supposed to do: make you believe in the feeling all over again.

Hello Groovers,

This week's Liquid Sunshine explores French Touch and its enduring influence—those signature elements that made the genre unmistakable: spacious basslines that breathe, perfectly chopped disco samples, and that hypnotic sidechaining that makes everything pulse together. From the genre's architects like Cassius, Modjo, and Alan Braxe & Fred Falke to artists who carried the torch forward like Boston Bun and Lifelike, these tracks share that distinctly French approach to house music where less is more and every element has room to shine. It's two hours celebrating a sound that proved you don't need to fill every frequency—sometimes the space between the notes is what makes people move.

Hello Groovers,

This week's Liquid Sunshine is all about the bass—because no matter the genre, the tempo, or the era, it's always about that low-end foundation. From Fela Kuti's relentless Afrobeat groove and Orchestra Latina's Latin funk thump to KiNK's deep house rumble and Henrik Schwarz's hypnotic throb, every track is built on basslines that don't just support the music—they drive it, define it, and demand your body's attention. It's two hours that prove the eternal truth: you can strip away everything else, but if the bass is right, people will move.

Hello Groovers,

This week's Liquid Sunshine replays last night's DJ set—a seamless journey from contemporary funk and nu-disco heat (Smoove & Turrell, Franc Moody, Crazy P) into timeless disco classics that never left the dancefloor. The energy builds through Sister Sledge's "He's The Greatest Dancer" and Loleatta Holloway's euphoric "Love Sensation" before landing in that sweet spot where edits, re-works, and originals all blur together into pure groove. It's two hours that prove the best DJ sets don't need a thesis statement—they just need to feel right from the first track to the last.

The journey starts in deep space with spiritual jazz from Emma Jean Thackray and LCSM, flows into funky cosmic grooves from Santana and Manu Dibango, then lands hard on the dancefloor with classic filter house bangers from Armand Van Helden, Junior Jack, and Bob Sinclar for when the munchies wear off and you're ready to move. Hello Groovers,

This week's Liquid Sunshine is all about horny horns—blazing, punchy, and absolutely wild brass sections that cut through every track like a knife. From Fela Kuti's relentless Afrobeat horn arrangements and Shina Williams' hypnotic percussive blasts to the Latin boogaloo fire of Charlie Palomares and Joe Bataan's New York street funk, these horns don't just accompany the rhythm—they ARE the rhythm, shouting, celebrating, and driving the groove forward with uncompromising energy. It's two hours of proof that when the horn section is cooking, whether in Lagos, Rio, or the Bronx, there's no sound more exhilarating on the planet. Oh yeah, it's sexy music for sexy people.

Hello Groovers,

This week's Liquid Sunshine came straight from the pile on the floor—no grand plan, just the kind of instinctive curation that happens when you've got thousands of records and you trust your ears. From Danny Tenaglia's Brooklyn groove through Masters At Work's horn-laced heat and Captain Sky's cosmic funk, the thread running through these tracks is pure feeling: funky, disco-tinged, house-inflected, and built to move bodies. It's two hours that prove sometimes the best sets aren't overthought—they're just sonically connected, emotionally right, and pulled from a pile by someone who knows what works.
