Right on!

This book is a road map to what happened to the financial crisis that ALL Americans experienced in recent years and a wake up call to what the American dream actually is. And I mean ALL Americans rich or poor because it effects us ALL. Michael Farr has also given his insight as to how we should conduct ourselves in the future.There is also some interesting history noted as well. I for one believe in the American dream and hope that that things will get better. Every law maker, left or right and every wall street big shot should read this book and then ask themselves can I make the American dream come back to life or should I just stumble around as I have always done! And as long as I have the floor, not being a religious man but, The Ten Commandments is a very good way for every human being on earth to live by. Thanks Michael, for the words that have reminded us all what it takes to be a better American.

Farr at his best

I enjoyed Michael's most recent book and was also drawn to his website to watch the stories of other's American Dreams. Michael has a way of putting economics, the human psyche and life in an easy to understand format that makes a great deal of sense. This book is a must read for those who are lost in the thought that the American Dream is all about money. I hope 535 members of the congress and senate get their copies soon so we can refocus on the premise that American was founded upon and so many fought and died to preserve. Well Done Mr. Farr - Well Done.

Restores Faith and Hope

This book was an easily understandable explanation of what caused a lot of the financial problems of the recent past and how they affected the national pysche. More importantly, it described a path to restore hope and get America back on track. Filled with real life examples and humor it was an entertaining and encouraging read. I have enjoyed all of Michael Farr's books.

Insightful and thought provoking

This is a fascinating and provocative book on the recent economic crises we faced in the United States and how we can move forward to a better America. Michaal writes with style, wit and insights. In particular, I learned a lot about how important is trust in our government and corporate institutions, a trust that was destroyed for us in 2008 and 2009. Regaining trust is a long road that we must take.

Yes, I would. The Author introduces Strategic Management and some issues attached to it in interesting way and deep at the same time that can attract scholars, workers at the business field and those are simply curious about knowing about the concept, its meaning, importance, value and how strategic management plans are formed..

Which character as performed by Mayr Berry was your favorite?

The first female CEO of Avon, Andrea Jung that was represented as a case study to explain how CEOs form effective strategic management plan. I also liked how she modernized the vision statements of Avon as a big company in the beauty industry, especially after knowing from several examples the author presented, how important are those statements for inspiring the consumers outside and the company's performers inside.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes! Actually I was planning to split it on two times but it attracted me and I kept listening till the end.

The bonus track for relaxation is amazing. For me the best sentences are;My ethical strategic planning contributes positive energy to the world.I'm passionate about my work and our ethical strategic planning process. No doubt they provide the employer and the employee with positive image so we, employers or employees, can seek achieving that image on the ground.

Okay at best

I'm sure Farbman has had much success, but his story didn't hold my interest and many of the ideas were simply existing common sense said differently. If he had a more engaging story to tell, he'd capture readers' attention better.

Not just for CEOs

A good book with some excellent ideas. I'm not not a CEO. I don't work for a corporation. I don't run a company. So why did I read this this book? In part, because I was going to meet one of the authors and I wanted to know how they thought. Also because I am embarking on a project where I will be selling ideas. This looked like the most interesting book. I chose well. It is a good book. It has good ideas that I will try tho implement and good techniques to use. I will read additional books by this author.

Loved it!

I have just finished reading this book, after a massage and cocktails in Fiji. Head, heart and Guts changed the way I lead and this book is doing it all over again. It helps to know that all that questioning, uncertainty, ambiguity, resolved and unresolved conflict is pretty normal. I am pleased to say I am very unfinished, and excited about experimenting with the very practical tools and methods outlined in this book. For me the chapters on paradox, conflict management and self development gave great insight into what I need to be doing more of. I loved the challenge of this book, the way it gets inside your head and puts a mirror up. The future all the brighter as I jump over the line into the unknown! :-)
