Ashlee Mallory has become one of my favorite authors!!! This book was so much fun to read, I could not put it down. This is the third book in the Sorensen Family series about Dr. Benny Sorensen and her neighbor Henry Ellison. They meet because Henry is having a party and its so loud Benny cannot sleep so she crashes his party to complain. Benny is not into fashion or looks, kind of a tomboy. She has a crush on a fellow Dr. in her practice. Her and Henry make a deal that she will no longer complain about him to the HOA and he will help her get a date with Dr. Luke Seeley. In the mean time they become great friends and have so much fun together. As the feelings start to develop they have some issues due to Henry's childhood. These two were so cute together! There were many times in the book that I laughed out loud. The dialogue between the two is fun and flirty. My only complaint about this book is that I want to read more about Henry and Benny!!!!

A really enjoyable dual POV story as Nolan woos and wins the love of his life risking a lot in the process.. and as Ellie risks her heart once more by starting a relationship that should've fizzled out but grew stronger and deeper instead - until there were no more secrets between them - just a lot of love.. and eventually some emotional wtf's. Good characters, a well written plot, sexy times, passion, a bit of angst and drama as jealousies flare, mystery, suspense, romance and a twist or two at the end. However, there was something wrong with Amelie Griffin's narration which was a bit emotionally flat and choppy but it wasn't bad enough to spoil the listen.. neither was Rudy Sanda's narration which was ok.. except when he did a female or child's voices.

Worth a credit? Yes definitely.

Who Is The Real Kip?

Okay, so I love Deborah and her books are never straight forward and I really like that. This book is no different. The characters all have some mystery or secret that keeps you wondering which way is this story going. There were so many unanswered questions that I was starting to get frustrated with being in the dark for so long, but all was revealed near the end. I would have liked it better if the secrets were revealed in increments instead of all at once.

A HOT BUT DISAPPOINTING STORY OF LUST v LOVE

Sadly I'm a little bit torn with this listen.. the premise of the story was good - a hot sexy Alpha Billionaire CEO boss and soon to be step-brother gets tamed by his new Intern/future step-sister all sounded good. But Bethany's constant insecurities and immature behaviour wore me down a bit.. she was an intelligent woman yet all that was going through her head was Damon this.. Damon that.. Damon Damon Damon. And I'm usually ok with 'insta' anything however I just thought Bethany's declaration of love for a man whose emotions were so closed off, promised sex but absolutely no commitments, was a shameless womanizer and after such a short time of brief encounters was all just too unreal. Professionally speaking punching a couple-worker in the face and breaking her nose for a bitchy comment was also pretty unrealistic.. even if the thought crosses your mind.

However, I battled on but I found myself picking more holes in the story.. like there was no discussion of safe sex or contraception before they went skin to skin for their many sexcapades. Bethany manipulated her loving Mom to marry early because of her own need for financial help then hid feelings and lied to her whenever just wasn't a nice character trait. So I didn't really like, and couldn't connect with, Bethany nor could I buy into the story of true love when Damon was being such an ass to her. Damon was all kinds of hot.. a dirty talking sexy alpha who demands (and delivers) a lot when it comes to sex but has commitment issues after his Mom's many infidelities and lies. And there are various secondary characters who are weaved in and out of the storyline to threaten or support the fragile balance of Bethany and Damon's relationship. Parts were well detailed and yet there were gaping gaps in information too.. but the unexpected CLIFFHANGER ending topped my peeves as their story will continue for at least four more books. Told from Bethany's POV by a good narrator.

Worth a credit? Sorry but I'm on the fence with this one.. if the series was boxed sets then maybe yes but then again I think of the heroine's immature actions and I think He'll no.

In The Middle!

I'm in the middle of this one. I really liked the concept of the story, a girl wronged by her childhood best friend's family, Jackson. She's hell bent on Revenge starting with Jackson and ending with his father, and she doesn't care who she hurts along the way. When she starts implementing her plans, she ends up with conflicting emotions about getting even with Jackson. While he's lead the good life due to his father's blood money, he hasn't been totally corrupted either. After the first incident, he's well aware of her plans of revenge and tries to discourage her but for the past 10 years that's all she's focused on. One thing I really liked about this story, were the plot twists, there were multiple plot twists that kept the story interesting and moving along. The one thing I didn't like was the lack of chemistry between the characters. They worked well together on some things but you really never felt the connection between them. There were several steamy moments between them (especially at the end), but the story has more drama and action than a steamy connection.

Megan Kelly did a really good job with the narration. I like how she portrayed all the character's different emotions.

Overall, not a bad story. It has more drama, suspense and action than romance. I received this audio in exchange for an honest review.

Revenge with several twists & turns.

I really enjoyed this story and the idea of a girl seeking revenge after her parents are murdered. Katrina is left in foster care to fend for herself. I found it difficult to understand why she would start with her childhood best friend Jackson. He was not the one responsible for it and the story develops and you find more twists and turns. I did not think her train of thought made sense when some unexpected things were revealed throughout the story.

The narration was very good. It brought the story to life. The only problem I had with some of the narration was that sometimes the intonation did not match what was being said.

The chemistry between Jackson & Katrina was lacking a bit. There was a lot of drama, suspense, action, and plenty twists & turns.

Overall a good book and I enjoyed listening to it.

This story is tied with the first book in the series as a favorite or, at the least, a close second. I enjoyed how the series tied up the ongoing mystery/suspense and drew characters from the previous books into this story. Kylie and Nick were great mc's and some of my favorite in this series. Like every book prior, I wish I could get more story, but it was still a lovely re-telling, interesting story line, and sweet romance.

Lara Asmundson narrated every book in this series and aside from book 3, I was thoroughly pleased.

I love this series!

I absolutely adore this series, and this 2-hour audiobook is such a cozy and suspenseful addition to the "Cowboy Fairy Tales". It is the final audiobook of the series, but Lacy Williams has written a final short story that is available for free if you sign up for her newsletter (info available at the end of this audiobook). I am also very glad that there is a "Triple H Brides" spin-off series that starts with "Kissing Kelsey" because these characters are dear to my heart.

I immediately loved Kylie and Nick. Kylie's problems touched my heart. Nick also had a problem that caused him to not be able to trust easily again. It was sort of a second-chance romance because Nick had had a crush on Kylie when they were children. Now they are in their 20s, and Nick is a handsome and capable small-town cop. Nick and Kylie are good people. Kylie's dog Snow was adorable as well.

There was a fantastic, tautly written suspenseful sequence that made my heart pound. I was quite impressed with the the quality of the writing. I love this installment so much that I plan to listen to it again in the near future.

It is so cool that the two continuing story arcs for the series were concluded so nicely. The lost princess was found, and now we found out what happened to the psycho royal aunt. This book focuses on Kylie and Nick, with a little bit of third person perspective from Gideon and Peter. I love the adorable ending, too. I recommend this series to everyone who loves contemporary romance, especially those with princesses, cowboys, or guys in uniform. FYI, this series only has kissing, no sex scenes.

Tantalizing Read

It was very well written. I did not realize it was an erotic novel, but that was fine with me. My only "complaint" is that it was marketed as an African American novel, but the characters were all Caucasian. But still a good read. I am interested in what happens next.

Excellent Read

This was an excellent read by Ink Mistress. She pulled you in with drama unfolding quickly in chapter one that left you wanting to know what was going to happen next. The story was so well written that i felt every emotion that Lynn felt about her unfortunate situation. However I also felt the exact same emotion from her husband Duane. This has very few errors none that caused me not to continue to read the book. I will be getting part two soon.

Master Nails It!

Reed is brought in to work with Katie on the Mentor case. Mentor sets his sight of terror, fear, and intimidation toward Katie. The plot thickens with three possible suspects. Little notes left by Mentor let's her know that he watches her every move.

Reed (love the name) vows to protect Katie who insists she can take care of herself. As the dynamic duo gets closer to the case, so does their relationship. Major heat, and I mean steamy, Fifty Shades heat, fires up the pages.

This is the first book I've read from Julia Sykes but not the last. Her ability to weave a suspense yet passionate love story is a skill, and she nailed it!

Another solid book from Julia Sykes

I have enjoyed this entire series. Some of the books are extremely dark. This one has dark undertones, but it is not bad.

The books in this series can be read as stand alones. This one is no exception. You can pick this book up and read it having not read any of the other books and not be lost at all. BUT I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THAT. All of these books are wonderful. And while each book can be read on its own, you will miss a WONDERFULLY powerful story that builds from the beginning. You will miss some of the subtleties between the characters that are a result of things that they have experienced in the prior books.

This book is about a relationship with two FBI agents. They are partnered to solve a crime that has crossed jurisdictions. Reed comes in to Chicago to assist on the investigation. He is charismatic and has a great wit to him. But you can't miss that he is definitely a DOM. Katie is the FBI agent that he is paired with. They met when she came to help in NY on the case that started there and has now moved to Chicago. While she is very good at her job, she is not happy in it but doesn't feel like disappointing everyone around her by speaking her mind. She is instantly attracted to Reed, but her feelings for him scare her a little because she knows the lifestyle that he leads. She sees abuse of women in her job everyday and she has a hard time reconciling the abuse that she sees and the D/s relationship dynamic. Reed is just the man to pull her through it.

All of that is going on between them while they are trying to solve this case. Oh, and Katie has a stalker. So the dom part of Reed's personality, not to mention the fact that he is her partner, really brings out his protective side.

Love is there. Pleasure through pain is there. Suspense and an ending that most won't see coming. Great suspense, awesome sex.

What I love most about this entire series is that it is not just sex, BDSM. These books are hugely suspenseful. Sykes does a masterful job of weaving the romance around the suspense. And, while there is some strong language, it is not over the top and gratuitous. She doesn't use f*** just for the sake of saying f***.

This one was one I read in one setting.

Melissa is a top notch reader/narrator. I love the acting bits that go into her reading. It makes all the difference between an okay experience and a fab experience.

Superb storytelling. Superb reading. The Married Series just keep getting better and better. I usually only "listen" to books at work, but I couldn't leave this one there. I finished it up while cleaning the house and even kept my earbuds in while grocery shopping. Little rude of me? Maybe. But I don't care. :)

WHAT IT'S ABOUT

Sidney's matchmaking business is suffering. When her best friend convinces her to put on a fake engagement ring to boost customer confidence in her, she reluctantly agrees. Couldn't hurt to try, right? And when her childhood crush comes walking in, she's glad to have her fake engagement as an excuse not to get involved with him. He shattered her heart 10 years ago, and she can't take another painful Blake incident.

Blake can't believe it when he sees Sidney, all grown up. She looks amazing. But she's also off limits, or so he thinks. When he finds out she's not really engaged, he's confused as to why Sidney would lie to him. He makes it his goal to coax the truth out of her, even if he has to go to great lengths to do it.

MY TAKE

This is the fourth book in this series that I've listened to by Lieske. Her stories are always filled with heart and humor.

Blake is adorable, and Sidney's a fun character. I loved how their old friendship found its way back, and they were able to remember how much they had enjoyed each other's companies. One of my favorite parts in a book like this is when they share so much of their history. It gives them a great connection.

Melissa Sternenberg, the narrator, did a great job.
