Quarterback Meets Librarian Romance

This is a short engaging story about a high profile quarterback that meets a small city librarian. She has no clue who he is and their relationship starts based on lies but the truth always has a way of catching up with you.

Narration was excellent and brought the story to life.

The only downside to this book is that it leaves you hanging with a huge cliffhanger. Their relationship is new and trouble seems to be right around the corner. Im looking forward to the next book in this fun series.

OMG where's part two?

I'm really enjoying this book, the story is sweet and funny. The characters are realistic and relateable and the dogs made me laugh so hard!

The relationship develops fairly quickly but too fast.

I definitely need the next part ASAP I have to know what happens next.

The narration is well done as far as overall delivery is concerned. However the female character voices aren't great and it's sometimes hard to know who is speaking.

Sexy, Great beginning

I liked everything about this story except that it is done in parts.

What about Chris Abells performance did you like?

Everything. His voice is sexy, smooth and he is able to capture even the female voices without sounding silly. His cadence is spot on.

I will admit I was dragging my feet on this one. Only because it is a sports romance and that it's football. I love Rachelle Ayala stories so I decided to give them a chance and glad I did.

This is the first book and it does hang on a cliff hanger.

Very Well Done

Much of Clay Navarroâs story is written on his tattooed and scarred body. As undercover ATF agent in a violent criminal biker gang, he has seen and done things that haunt his waking and sleeping memory. Hiding out in a small, rural town while waiting to testify against the gang and recovering from wounds sustained during their takedown, Clay meets Dr. Georgette Hadley, a dermatologist who removes tattoos. Forced on him by a brutally evil Sultansâ member, Clay has some tattoos he is desperate to be rid of as they identify his undercover status as well as the gang badges. In a way, the removal of these inked emblems is a metaphor for getting his life back. As he endures the pain under Georgetteâs skilled and compassionate hands, they both are intensely drawn to one another when they are seemingly opposites. Clayâs undercover life became a part of his psyche almost as indelibly as the ink on his skin. His reason for going in with this particular gang was personal as well as professional which adds an even darker dimension.

Georgette has been a widow for ten years having lost her husband to cancer while still quite young. Her own emotional scars from that trauma, and bad decisions in her teen years, have led Georgette to savor the quiet, safe life of her rural home; but is she really living or just surviving? While ostensibly a romance, this tale is a reminder that people from all levels of social strata make bad and good choices, but ultimately what defines and sometimes saves them is how they overcome tough odds to be better than their circumstances. Love gives this couple a second chance at living instead of just existing; they have to ability heal one another in a profound way despite their individual losses and the darkness in the world.

Sweet and fluffy

Would you consider the audio edition of Tall, Dark, and Deported to be better than the print version?

I haven't read the print version but I liked the accent of Mateas that Dorian Bane gave.

What other book might you compare Tall, Dark, and Deported to and why?

I think it compares to most of the Dreamspun Desires. They are all on the sweet fluffy side.

What does Dorian Bane bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?

The voices. Especially Mateas accent. He also brings life to the story as always.

No, not really I enjoyed the entire story though.

Tall Dark and Deported is seriously sweet and fluffy so if you like romance that sparkles you really should read this.

Mateus is going to Vancouver when the flights are delayed he meets a Businessman Crawford. They bond right away and when Mateus runs into issues with his green card Crawford steps up and says they are engaged to keep him from getting sent to jail.

I loved that Crawford was such a stand-up guy to help out Mateus, but I think I loved Mateus more ( yeah I like them tall dark and handsome with an accent.

The story is fun, faced paced and one that lets you escape reality and just enjoy.

don't have high expectations going in

Quick read: yes. Enjoyable read: not so much.

I love romance stories, and the "must get married" theme is an old one but sometimes a very fun one. This one was... not.

The book cover caught my attention and so did the first few pages of the preview - which is why I bought the book.

But I can only handle so much predictability. I know it's a short story, but come on. Give the villains some believability, give your hero and heroine some actual personalities. I don't feel like a lot of time was put into fleshing out the characters or the story, just into moving the story from "Get out oh ye one night stand" to "Let's get married to solve problem x" to "Oh no I'm in love, but they don't love me back" to "yay we're all in love". I skimmed a LOT of the story progression because the characters themselves didn't hold my interest enough for me to care.

Decent Book!

I enjoyed listening to this book, was a decent sequel. I'd have to say that the narration made the book better. I liked the characters and enjoyed them for the most part but it seemed like there was just too much push and pull between the two. From the beginning, it was a total struggle and then magically things changed for them both and they're deeply in love. Talk about a whiplash moment but nonetheless, the interaction between the two was good when it was good. They story was predictable but still enjoyable. Overall decent and I would read the author again.

Excellent audio!

I loved Improvisation by KarisvWalsh. Excellent narration by Melissa Sternenberg. Great story. Love the setting in the Pacific Northwest. Sort of a sequel to Harmony. Not really sure. But we see some of the same characters.

No cliff hanger.....

No cliff hanger need I say more?!! I cannot wait to read the next book and sets of characters. This books have tons of character development..it is not rushed to the finish. I loved every second..minutes of reading it. Nothing at home got done today as I was trapped in Josh and Haylees world...the conversation the flow of the book. Again no rushing...they fell in love through time..I appreciates all the insight to both characters! They were not perfect, each have their own demons to battle and in the end were able to have a HEA. I cannot wait up find out what is next as I am sure we will see glimpse of josh and Haylee in the next book about Brian and Sasha...and hoping that all the other characters have their story..as this will be an absolutely wonderful

Loved this story

Aubrey Bondurant wrote a fantastic story with Tell Me Something (Something Series Book 1). I loved Haylee and Josh (Mr. Singer). While they each battled with their own personal issues they decided to give in to the sexual tension (not before josh called his friend and lawyer Mark though). The whole story is great and it made me cry quite a few times and I did laugh out loud a few times as well. Thereâs something about a mouth, witty woman who does stuff to get a reaction out of a man that I love, and not in the Iâm going to be deceitful and make you jealous way. But in the fun sexual way that makes the man go crazy and finally give in to his desires. Haylee and Josh go through a lot in Tell Me Something but honestly I love their game of tell me something, it was such a good way to learn random stuff about them both.

Entertained - but not a great work

This book, as well as the first in the series - Tangled Lies - are decent plots, but the stories are not well organized and the characters frequently take leaps that are simply not logical. Nevertheless, I was entertained and enjoyed the books.

Jacquie Floyd is an "ok" narrator for the main characters - but she makes secondary characters sound like little old men or little old ladies - or someone that doesn't have any teeth in their mouth. I think a different narrator that didn't try so hard at changing her voice or creating different inflections would improve the overall story-line. I"ll probably read the next in the series - but I doubt that I will listen to it.

Excusing Domestic Abuse

While the majority of Hidden Threat was well-written and entertaining, I was disgusted that domestic abuse was casually excused and minimized.

Cole Sutton's father viciously beat both his wife and son, yet Cole's mother believed it was her Christian duty to stay with her cruel husband and meekly submit to physical assault. She actually lectured Eve on how to be a good wife and mother, as if allowing an innocent child to be beaten regularly made her mother of the year.

Although I normally appreciate Christian books that promote kindness, compassion and generosity, I am horrified when religion is subverted to justify violent and degrading behavior.

Good read

This book had the right mix of mystery, romance and action. The narrator did a really good job with all the different voices.

Oh my God. This book was magic.

Oh my God. This book was magic. I'm consistently blown away by Tessa Bailey's talent and her amazing stories. This book was EVERYTHING. I wasn't sure how to feel about Peggy in the 2 prior books. She seemed flighty, and superfluous a lot of the time, but with all the Clarksons, there's always more beneath the surface. And when I teared up while reading the prologue, I knew I was in for it!

Peggy Clarkson is on a cross-country road trip with her siblings to complete their mother's last wish of jumping into the ocean in NYC on New Year's Eve. They lost her older sister, Rita, in New Mexico to the amazing man she met while their car was broken down, Jasper. They lost her older brother Aaron in Iowa to the gorgeous, unique, daughter of the senator he was trying to work for, Grace. So, now it's just Peggy, who is the baby of the family, and her oldest brother Belmont. Sage, Peggy's best friend, is also traveling with them. Peggy's headed for a pit stop in Cincinnati, Ohio to her Alma Mater, for alumni weekend. But she's actually going to finally try to close the page on the one that got away, the head football coach at her University, Elliott Brooks.

Elliott is a hot mess. He's got a 12 year old daughter he barely seems to have a relationship with, though they live in the same house. Nomes and Leprechaun

Holiday MT has the whole gambit of mythical and paranormal beings. Brayden had his hands full loving a woman and children that had no clue to his feelings. Allie l I ved Brayden but fir this mother her children would always come first.

Gregory did his job lending voice to all the characters with clear distinction.
