Fantstic Book....Following in the foot steps of Christian Grey and Gideon Cross!

This book caught my eye because of the beautiful cover, it has great great significant in the story. I like it when book covers actually match the story. I loved Lilly the minute I got a description of her. She looks exactly like my daughter with the mixed of nationalities. I think it is wonder that the author has chosen to write a character like that. She is strong and independent, just love her. Carson is a strong alpha male. This story is like the other two series I mentioned in the way that a young innocent girl meets a rich billionaire playboy. The meat go the story however is not the same. There are no abuse in Lilly or Carson's life when they were younger. They are just both trying protect themselves from being emotionally hurt, while achieving the life goals.

Love this book and can't wait for the conclusion in the second book.

CAPTIVATING

Making an ordinary to an extraordinary! It might seem like a regular love story but there is something that draw you to keep on reading and you just cannot stop. I read it nonstop the whole day & night! To some, the beginning might be slow but I found that part intriguing and it was the one that lured me, activated my curiosity on how the 2 protagonist lives will get intertwined. I found that part helpful as to have a better understanding of their past and now dealing the present as their path intersect with each other. The story in itself was a total package. Not only an emotional rollercoaster but it deals with the rich & the poor, the west & the east, the good & the evil, suspense, love of family, friendship, faith, love at first sight, destiny and the love! Their attraction is so palpable. Their love for each other makes you fuzzy, warm & hot! I just love them to death. Carson & Lilly are one good creation. Lil is a beautiful person inside and out.

A great read

Everything the Heart Wants was a great read. I don't think I have ever read a book with a main character that was so me in this way. We are first introduced to our main character, Halley, when she is telling us a bit of her history. How she has never wanted kids, never, how she would bring that up on the first date with guys she dated to make sure that that was okay with them before things get serious. Because if they really want kids it wouldn't work out. Better to find that out before you fall in love and start planning a future and realize you both want different things. Because kids? They are a big deal. There is not an easy way to compromise with kids. If you are not on the same page then one person must put aside their wants for the other. Which could be not so good in the long run depending on the situation/relationship/people involved. And that is me. I am so Halley in this way. I have never wanted to have kids. I brought it up right away with anyone I dated because it is a big deal. It really is a deal breaker for some people. And I got lucky to find my husband who is totally on board with it just being us. We love our life as it is. I love my friend's kids, I am super happy for them that they have the family that they want and it is great. I just don't want that for myself. So I got Halley. Everything she said about how she met her husband and how her life worked out up until this point I was just like yes! Exactly! Yes! It was pretty awesome because like I said I have never encountered a character like that in one of my books. It was refreshing to read. Something different.

Only what happens when one person in the relationship changes their mind? What happens when you are still super in love, but one person now wants a baby? When one person goes back on that life of no kids that was agreed upon? Man, this was a rough one. And it was a bit...intense for me to read. Nerve-wracking and really shook me up. I will be honest it made me a little paranoid that maybe my husband would change his mind and then what would I do? Because I am still firmly in the no kids boat. As I was reading I was afraid to go on, but couldn't put it down at the same time. I didn't want to see what would happen because as I said kids are a big deal.

Sad Girl is a depressingly sad audiobook.

Sad Girls by Lang Leav is appropriately titled. Dont listen to this audiobook without first seeing your doctor, and then only if your doctor will prescribe a strong prophylactic antidepressant. Otherwise you might decide to end it all before finishing this book. The book is enshrouded in a doleful cloud of melancholia. This young author, she is 34 if my web search is correct, and young is a relative term, appears to lack a solid moral compass. She also lacks a basic understanding of human nature and human interactions. She misunderstands people, profoundly. So her characters are difficult to develop an attachment to. They are difficult to like. When she kills one off, it is difficult to regret their loss. If she is the phenomenal best-selling author my web-search says she is, then I worry about our lost generation of twenty-somethings who are reading this drivel, living in their parents basements, still playing video games, and reading trash romance novellas. They really need to come out into the sunshine, interact with real people in the real world, and give up smoking dope. Instead I think they, too often, shrink from the light, remaining alone, in a self-imposed solitary confinement. The light hurts their eyes. Interacting with real people is too difficult. But I have derived some benefit from the long and unpleasant experience of reading this tiresome novel. It has given me much to think about as I deal, on a daily basis, with this lost generation of snowflakes who yearn to live in a socialist utopia, free from work and worry. I hope, if the author reads this unkind review, she will use it to seek a better moral compass. I suggest seeking a relationship with Jesus Christ, who is Love incarnate, the Word of God made flesh. She should also seek to better understand people, so that human nature will be more accurately reflected in the characters she creates in her future novels. Fame and fortune alone do not bring happiness or instill the sense of purpose that humans need more than happiness. A kind review is not what Lang Leav needs. She may also need to be on Prozac, or maybe she just needs more aerobic exercise. Daily exercise can often sufficiently counter even significant depression, doom and gloom. That being said, I do think this young author has potential if she can overcome her inexperience with life and the thick fog of depression that permeates this novel. She has a unique and artful dexterity in her use of the English language, Australian though it may be.

Linguaggio fresco, contenuto polverosissimo

A volte ho dovuto interrompere lascolto per il susseguirsi delle miserie descritte nel romanzo. Serio, drammatico, tragico tutto il libro. In realtà non succede niente di visceralmente catastrofico. Vediamo: una maestra profondamente balorda, di mente mal cresciuta e lenta sopravvive la seconda guerra mondiale a Roma, insieme al suo pupo bastarduccio che due anni dopo, dovuto a certi effetti post-traumatici degli avvenimenti, muore durante un attacco epilettico. Non erano trasportati come tutti gli altri giudei della capitale, non erano messi dentro a camere a gas, pativano la fame sì, ma niente orrendo. Eppure...

lorrendo per me in tutta quella faccenda sorge dallottusità della madre, la quale non è capace per un solo istante di stimulare il suo bambino. Useppe, nato precoce e promettente, alla fin fine diventa un bimbo segregato, tardo, senza informazioni proprie sul mondo intorno a lui. La madre non gli parla, non gli racconta e canta sempre la medesima canzone e Useppe è costretto varie volte a star solo in una camera chiusa a chiave senza uno straccio o anima viva con cui giocare. La gente intorno a loro è troppo indaffarata a badarci, ognuno gli caccia via, rimane dunque la madre sempliciotta che no nutre e basta. Useppe muore non per ragioni sanitari, egli muore per via dellindifferenza generale e mancanza di stimoli mentali. Dico sul serio, La Storia mi fece maggiore effetti che un qualsiasi romanzo di orrore.

Daltro canto il libro ormai perse ogni rapporto con la realtà. Allepoca forse forse destava polemiche ma oggigiorno è fuori stagione. Un redattore del 2017 taglierebbe a titolo giusto due terzi del testo. Sì, Elsa Morante scrive bellissima, ma il romanzo è stracolmo di descrizioni ed idee irrelevanti al lettore di oggi. Io stesso dovevo saltare alcuni capitoli dove il tossicomane Davide parla per quasi cento pagine sugli orrori della guerra e su certi sbagli storici. Presso Morante è tutto ingombrante, troppo, abbundante, interi paragrafi o capitoli a descrivere visioni e sogni, relazioni famigliari e andirivieni per strade in rovina: ma con certi brani memorabilissimi. La psicologia dei personaggi non regge affatto, quel che rimane però è lempatia immensa della Morante per i bambini.

Invece delLa Storia il romanzo doveva intitolarsi magari Ida ed Useppe o Roma città zombi, perché cè solo lambizione del titolo e manca un resoconto storico belle proprio. Ma poniamo che anche questo serve come unallegoria.

La narrazione della signora Forte è eccessionale. Ella canta, grida, sussurra e ride con trasporto, offrendo colori a un libro alquanto debole.

Minimalist treatment at best.

Just wanted an idea of what it was about and it barely supplied that. I think it was a waste of money.

The Handmaid's Tale

I haven't finised reading the book yet but it is really the worse nightmare a modern woman could live through. All the progress and rights women have wored for so hard, and won taken away from her, not allowed to read write, to vote, have a job, those who can bear children can not raise them. The only privelege is male priveledge, men onlu have rights, everything is decided for the women by a few rich old men. Who are the only ones who can have sex with the hand maidens. It is horrible and scary. What's worse it is possible.

A scary future, an easy read.

After hearing about the show and this boon I was interested in reading it , especially as everyone was talking about it. Easysummaries made it possible to read the book and talk about it without taking all that time. The book is a scary look into a bleak future for women. Easysummaries kept the main vibe of the world in its summary. I was able ti learn all the names and important parts. Hopefully this future never comes to pass.

Another rollicking adventure for Evan Tanner! Well plotted, with characters you care about.

Theo Holland once again does an excellent job with the various accents and voices.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Too much, which is a pity because I like the author, as you know. The same applied, only less so, with the later Bernie Rodenbar books. The original reader was great. The more recent one was not. Why change a winning formula?

Outstanding Tearjerker from the Land of Oz

Aussies talk funny and they drink waaaay too much, but you will need a box of Kleenex to get through this one. Very emotional ride well worth the ride, but with a happy ending (Thank God!).

I belly laughed, I cried, was turned on, was truly touched, and felt the full gamut of emotions throughout this book! This is the story that would translate well onto the big screen, truly the story every romantic needs to read/listen to! The writing is SO GOOD! The small expressions, the detail, and the word choice... SO GOOD! Worth every second of your time!

Alright story

These two mothers did not work together to save their children, as the details state. I guessed the "bad guy" the moment he was introduced to the story. The character, Edward, was of no consequence to the story at all. The notion that real-life adults keep these kind of secrets is nonsense...it was like a mediocre Hallmark made for tv movie. But if you like that sort of thing, then this book is for you.

Storyline good but narration terrible

I liked the storyline but the narration was terrible. Reminded of guy who narrated Michael Bennet books by Patterson.....a lack of emotion when emotion was needed!

Mostly the narrator. the dialog was very corny. Seems more like a young adult book

What didnt you like about Donna Postels performance?

It was over done. She had too much intensity when it wasn't needed. Just made it sound silly.

Lots of twists and turns!

I didn't see who was behind the killings until they were exposed. The characters in the story were great, you either loved them or hated them; which is awesome when they can evoke that kind of emotion.
