Wonderful

Excellent book. I got it as an audiobook so I could listen to it during my 75 mile drive to work. I made the mistake of starting it at home and finishing it in a day.

The narrator was good too. I like the way the narrator voiced Ell, abut like a female Hal.

Lots of interesting turns, a story of redemption, clever situations, and humorous observations.

Just Lovely....

While not a literary scholar, this is perhaps one of the top 5 Sci-fi and in particular time travel books ever. I am so glad I got this on audible as the narration is just spectacular. If you like time travel, then I urge you to get this book. You will not be disappointed.

The Gift of Time is a Gift!

I have struck gold with my last two audio books based around time travel. First there was Fata Morgana and now there is A Gift of Time. Everything I said about Fata Morgana holds true with this one. The value for money just in terms of dollar per hour listening is excellent (over 11 hours long). The narration is excellent. I sped the narration up to 1.25x speed simply because I was so eager to listen to the story. However, what provides the greatest value is simply the story line! It is total amazballs as we aussies would say!

The blurb does a good job at summarising a story which has more twist and turns than a cheap garden hose. I found myself constantly being surprised the development in the story. I liked how the author took some time to explain some of the problems with time travel problems which other authors tend to ignore. Everything in the story just adds to the great character development. Not only was the character development great but Jerry Merritt just seemed to know how much tension I can handle in a story.

I enjoyed this one immensely and I will be keeping an eye out for any other titles from the author.

This fast fat man is giving this one the full works Two thumbs up with a very big and long Fonzie heeeeeeey with a smile that says I am like a monkey with a new banana!

a rather complex science fiction story

Infinite is a well-crafted, complex, romantic, science fiction story that is so much more than what it seems at first glance. It is written by Jeremy Robinson, who at the time of this review has nearly fifty books available on Audible. The audiobook edition is exceptionally well narrated by none other than R. C. Bray. Mr. Bray is ranked as one of the best narrators and he has a few quite popular titles under his belt; including The Martian by Andy Wier. I mention this because the book, for me, felt, like a bit like The Martian, along with parts from the movie Inception and sprinkle in a few ideas from the movie The 13th Floor. If you enjoy science fiction books that have a fair amount of action, mystery, artificial intelligence, along with time and space dilemmas, I recommend you pick up this book and give it a listen.

I will admit that the book was a bit confusing at the start. You are dropped into a rather complicated and confusing scene with no real background allowing you to digest it. A few chapters into the book, it opens up like a budding flower and you are able to see all the beauty of the story holds within. There were a few additional bumps along the way where I thought I had missed something, but the author was able to get me back on track rather quickly. Often this seemed like a writing technique the author implemented on purpose giving the listener a more unsettled feeling. As stated earlier, the book had a feel of The Martian on a spaceship instead of taking place on Mars. That simplifies the story and background, but knowing this you will have a better idea of what you are in for when you listen.

Im listened to most of the popular PA books and this is my favorite so far. There is good character development and the storyline is quick and engaging. I love how conflicts come and go instead of a long build to a single conflict at the end. Usually by book 4 Im losing interest but I found myself liking each book more! Release the next book quick!!!

What a story!

The series started a little slow but when it got traction it took off. Ive read and listen to many stories in this genre. From William R. Forstchen to A. America there is no doubt Devon holds and exceeds expectations. Enjoyable story undoubtedly you will like.

Sara Lyons Fleming has a City series Mordacious and Peripetia. This series, in regards to good people put into difficult situations of survival, reminds me of Fleming's work. In Fleming's case, the apocalypse is zombie related.

Have you listened to any of R.C. Brays other performances before? How does this one compare?

YES. Bray is a very talented orator. I've hard him read aloud various books - most of them with a Mountain Man, end of the world theme. My first was Deviant about Ed Gein, the serial killer many say inspired the character Norman Bates in Psycho, as well as being cited as the inspiration for Leatherface.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Nope. Just the typical anxiety about who may not make it.

Great Book

Another great story. I do not want to ruin any part of the story for anybody but I will tell you that once you get into the story it keeps you listening. I normally listen only at work but this book kept me going at home. I can not wait for the third installation of the series. I had to buy the actual book so I can get a sneak peek.

This story was engaging and incredible with memorable and lovable characters. I found myself forgetting that it was narrated because this guy is so good at making different characters with his voice. what a team this author and narrator make. I'll be waiting now for the next in the series.

This book was released just after I finished the first book and now I can't wait for the third one. The world is more centered around the dungeon in this book and the story all as the characters are great.

Cliffhanger ending that will make you long for the next book. It's released already but I guess it takes a while to record an audio version.

A great adventure

I am not usually into these types of litrpgs, where the world is a game and everyone knows it. But this story is a great take on this type of world.

Well written, funny, smart with lots of action and twists. its a hefty read at 25 hours as well. Shout out to the sound editors and the narrator who do a great job bringing the story to life.

I, for one, welcome our new green overlords and eagerly await the next book.

Oren was one of the first players in New Era Online, an immersive virtual reality MMORPG. He leveled up in the game until he was a highly influential player, the head of the top guild in the game, with an impressive number of prime badges. All that is taken away when Oren is betrayed and a powerful scroll spell is used against him. Oren wakes up as a tiny green goblin in the unexplored Deadlands of New Era Online.

Determined not to delete his character, Oren decides to continue to play as a goblin and wreak his revenge. To do this, he needs to build a goblin city in the Deadlands and take the fight to the players who betrayed him.

If you're a fan of this genre, you know what to expect. The main character takes on quests, level grinds, improves his stats, and interacts with the game. This book has all that and more. There's really something for everyone here. If you love stats, this book is full of them, Oren's personal stats, the stats of his goblins, his building stats, resource stats, you name it. If you love city building, this is the book for you. You can just settle back and watch him build his new village, weighing food production needs against resource management, watching everything move at a realistic pace. And if you like combat, there's some of that too, as Oren defends his new settlement and takes out those threatening it.

I was genuinely invested in Oren and his progression. In the beginning, he made some frustrating bonehead decisions, and tried to explain why the mistakes actually worked in his favor. But by the end, his struggle to hold everything together made him really likable. There's some other characters I can't wait to see more of. It's going to be interesting to see where the series goes from here.

Jeff Hays did an awesome job with the narration. He has an impressive number of different voices for the characters, and is consistent with them throughout the book. He also has a realistic female voice which I always appreciate. He made the book a pleasure to listen to. I requested a copy of the audiobook, and I'm voluntarily leaving a review.

Very good series ... so far

I was prepared to find out that this was of less interest than Richard Fox's other excellent novels due to the decision to package both books 1&2 as a single offering. I'm please to state that, on the contrary, it was a very good set of books. Even though most of the battle sections were in space, something I enjoy less than ground encounters, I was surprise to find that these space encounters were really quite exciting.

A lot of what makes this series enjoyable is how Fox set up a perfect storm of events that allowed a lowly class officer to end up commanding what remains of Albion's space fleet. This, along with class of characters that supported the story. There's snooty royals, advanced armored mercenaries, an impossibly advance invasion force of unknown human origin, mimics and, of course, PIRATES!

Get this book combination, you'll not be disappointed.

Another excellent series from Fox

I loved the Emberverse, and to be honest, was a little hesitant to jump into a completely new universe, but The Exiled Fleet is fantastic.

Excellent universe, completely different, but completely entertaining. Great characters and a story that's easy to get lost in.

WOW, ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! WELL WRITTEN & PERFORMED.

Kept me awake right through the night. Great action and strong protagonist. The enemy, the Daegon is brutal and cruel. Commodore Thomas Gage, the protagonist had to run with his remaining fleet to save the last member of the royal family from the Daegons who are hunting them. Very well written sci/space opera. I am glad I gave this a try. I am new to to the author, Richard Fox. I like his style of writing. Mark Boyett did an excellent performance on all the different characters. Well worth a credit.

Dan Abnett is really good at building this universe and character depth.

Narrated by Toby Longworth, I really like his range of voice and they fit well with all these heroes and heroines.

Great combo, the next few books are also great and even better on audio.

I suggest atleast the first 4 audio books to get started, then you can decide from there were to go next, there are a ton of good books in this universe. And the Primarchs series is also good.

Even if you do not know anything about the board games, video games and warhammer universe, these are great books and fun reads.

This is war. War against aliens, orks, demons and more. There is politics and religion, honor, deception and tragedy in space, but mostly war.

In the far distant future mankind has spread across the universe and many branches of humanity have been lost for 1000's of years.

Out of the ashes of the Syndicate, a new, more powerful threat has emerged. A great "fix" til series 11 begins.

Great stories, fun connecting with old friends and mysteries. I love how they bridge the mythos and return some old favorite characters and invent new ones.

As much as the show

I absolutely loved the banter between Mulder and Scully, felt much more genuine then their interactions in the last tv series. The tongue in cheek comments, especially by Scully, brought back a lightness to stories that made me follow the x-files to begin with.

Although there a couple of spots in the stories were it got confusing and its unclear why some things are happening (very x-files) the whole production was fantastic. Certainly there are some unresolved plots that just like when tv show was on makes me excited to hear more.

Wish they were longer...

The stories are great and the performance is outstanding but the content is just so short. I wish there was more or they came out quicker.

One of the best X-Files Storylines

Stolen Lives brings back a lot of the feeling that the original storylines use to carry, while expanding this universe with even more relevant and engaging content.
