It is a good referance and recommend if you see Moes

Although I knew most of what I read, it was well worth the stroll down recall lane.

I did read a few things I did not know and it straighten out the chronology for me. I always had a little trouble with that apect; which film was first and so on.

It is a good referance and recommend if you see Moes, Larrys and Curly/Shemp/Curly Joes in everyday life.

Highly recommended if you are a new Stooges Fan.

Good reading

Interestingly informative. I've learned some things about these three (original stories) men that I never knew. Being an avid Three Stooges fan for most of my life, I've often wondered how these

guys got their start, and now I know. It was refreshing to learn about these guys and come to know them as three of the funniest numskulls you'll ever watch. I'll remain a fan of theirs until the end of the earth. They are definitely in a class all their own.

short, enjoyable read

This is a short book, like their comedy shorts! You will learn how the stooges were cheated by the studio and how Moe did his best to make sure they all lived comfortably. I enjoyed this book (read in one day).

If you remember and enjoyed watching the stooges, give this book a read. There's probably a lot you never knew. Just when I thought I knew a lot about the stooges -- nope. Interesting background and facts.

Good and boring at the same time! However the book reveals more about the superstar baller than what one may have been a little curious to know. I do consider james harden one of the great basketball players.

Great biography of a great player!

Being a huge NBA and Houston Rockets fan, Iâve also been a fan of James Harden since the Rockets picked him up from Oklahoma City. Iâd been vaguely aware of him since his college days but didnât really know much about him until he moved to Houston.

Since coming to Houston, Harden has rapidly become one of my favorite players. Iâve always had a soft spot for the underdog and Harden has had to fight all his life to get to where he is now. And of course, thereâs the BEARD!

Clayton Geoffreysâ book is an excellent biography of James Hardenâs life and achievements to date. It is well researched and well written, containing a lot of details I was previously unaware of. Mr Geoffreys has a number of other books on NBA stars. Iâve already bought his book on Tim Duncan. Iâve just started reading it and it looks to be just as good as this one.

Highly recommended!

A valuable biography

It is a short read, but it's thoroughly overflowing with good content, solid facts, and plenty of details. The author takes you on a journey through Harden's life from early childhood to high school and college. Then he tells about the athlete's NBA career and also includes details about his personal life. At the end of the book, the author talks about Harden's influence on the sport and deliberates the basketball players legacy, future, and expectations.

The author's writing was skillful, as well as, clear and concise.

terrible voice narrating the story

I tried to persevere with this but had to stop as the narration, which is computerised, is just dreadful. shame as the story itself is one worth hearing. hopefully we'll get a better version in future.

A Priceless Reading for Anyone who loved Rod Taylor

Rod Taylor was my favorite actor and I have DVD's of almost all his movies. If you admired this actor, buy the book. I really enjoyed knowing more about him. He was a very real person and a wonderful actor. I agree with the book, he did not pick the best roles. He preferred action roles when he really delighted in romantic comedy. My favorite movie was Sunday in New York. My favorite TV program was Hong Kong. My mother actually discovered Rod when Hong Kong was put on TV. This was the era of detective programs - 77 Sunset Strip, Hawaiian Eye, etc. with handsome male stars. The night Hong Kong aired, my mother called me into the room and said, "Wait till you see this guy." I took one look, sat down and he became my favorite ever since. I did follow his career but this book really brought out details of his daily progression from childhood in Australia through each and every movie/TV show. Low emphasis was put on his private life. He basically worked almost continually going between movies to TV and the author provided comments from his fellow actors and movie/TV staff of just about every one he acted in. He also performed in movies all over the world, half of which I was not aware of. Readers will enjoy some of the stories about when he filmed in Tucson, AZ and he and some of the crew got drunk and ended up in jail. Movie staff had to go get them the next day to continue filming. Rod also had a trailer stocked with food and margaritas, which was always open to the movie crew. He was a very happy person who enjoyed living his life to the fullest - sometimes a bit too full, but nevertheless, he lived till 84 and I suspect enjoyed every moment of his life. God bless Rod Taylor and many thanks to the author of this book, Steven Vagg, for giving us this wonderful story.

My favourite Hot Rod .

An excellent book on one of my favourite actors. A clear, detailed account of a much under rated performer, and considering the lack of co operation from the man himself,a very entertaining and clear eyed view of a movie career that ran out of steam way too early.

Clunky writing about a private person.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I would recommend this to a Mary Wickes fan. I am a big fan and am glad I listened to it. However, as a book I can't recommend it highly. Mary Wickes was a private person, and lived mostly for her work, and as a result is seems there isn't a lot to write about. A lot was filler about other people in her life that really didn't pertain to her. In addition, the writing was rather clunky and often jumped around in awkward ways.

Was Mary Wickes worth the listening time?

Yes.

Nostalgic entertainment

From "the man who came to dinner " to "sister act ", Wickes was one of the greatest character actresses of classic Hollywood. Enjoy!

Great but....

The author could have summed up her sex life or lack of in a few paragraphs instead of dragging it out. If Mary had or didn't have sex most readers could make their own conclusions without all the old gay actors comments. Other than that the book was a great history bio of her life and career

The Fact ?

Now lets write a unauthorized story about the author of this book. You want to make money off of ripping someone else for working hard. Cheat or not everyone was doing it. Look at baseball. every single hero from best hitter all time to best pitcher all time. Yep all cheaters. So if your story was worth it maybe I would write about you but I doubt it is, your only claim to fame is that you wrote a scam of a book that sold for 4 dollars. About the cost of printing it.

This story is not hardly the story of reasons its just facts and opinion. Many things are twisted from what I have read in other books. This guy just wants your money and found a good way to try and cheat his way into some. get a life. I actually haven't read it and wont but I have hear its a waste of paper and ink.

Professional Narration

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I would recommend the story in book form not audible. The narrator's voice is very bland. That combined with the fact that Gellhorn is not a sympathetic character/person is not a good match for an audible experience.

Bland bland bland

I know what happened to movie phone guy, he now reads audible books. This performance is the worst I've ever heard. Monotone.

The story jumps around. Seems like the author wrote this in a hurry and never went back to edit. It reads more like a high school paper than a researched book.
