Cute kid book for dog lovers
I ordered this book to read to my two-year old toddler and five-year old nephew. They both love reading and are obsessed with dogs.
Mr. Brown Dog is a bunch of cute bedtime stories about Mr. Brown Dog and his friend, Mr. Black Cat. The book teaches children about jealousy and thinking before you react. The book also includes different things, like funny jokes, games and puzzles. While I do believe my two-year old didn't understand much of it, he did enjoy listening to strikes about the "wow wow," aka dog lol. My nephew absolutely loved the book and asked me to read it with him again.

I would recommend this book
LOVE LOVE LOVE this book! My 3 year old niece and 7 year old nephew love this book! First and foremost, this book teaches kids about animals and what good behavior is and how to behave around others. Love how the author wanted to use animals and show positive and negative behavior from cats and dogs perspective! I come from an animal loving household. We have 3 dogs in the family, and when the author talks about begging and whining, my niece and nephew can relate to it and they compare it to how it makes them feel when our puppies behave like this around other people.
The author uses animal behavior to draw connection between an animals behavior to that of a child. Love the correlation between the two. It teaches good behavior by showing what the dogâs behavior is and then having a black cat gently explain how that negative behavior may be perceived by others. Also by giving the dog suggestions on how to resolve his problem behavior by a more acceptable means. Behaviors that can be challenging for many parents, grandparents and childcare givers.
The material shared in this book is definitely not good for bed time story. There is a lot of complex behavioral things that kids learn from this book, which forces them to think about their own behavior. From a 3 years old perspective, she doesnât understand all the material but she is able to graph good portion of it. From the 7 year old perspective, he is able to grasp a lot more, because he is able to see the similar behavior when he goes to school. I would suggest they need to up the targeted age range for this book.
Overall, I am satisfied with this book.
