Finale finally!

The final episode in the series only takes up about 19% of this book, with three other books by the same author "Sink", "Skip" and "Keeping Mum" making up the balance. One needs to have read the previous volumes to appreciate the "Acceptance" story. I read only this finale episode of the story which starts in a similar dark vein to how the previous volume ended, so is definitely for adults only. I cannot comment on the other three stories. We move through a conclusion of events "on earth" in which Casey and Lopez get their comeuppance, to a conclusion in the after-life "halfway house"with a happy ending for Molly and Sam. Some of it may offend those who have narrow views on religion. Although everything is resolved, I still found it all a bit anticlimactic unfortunately.

The elusive shot glass and its mysterious contents are once again the focus of the final episode of this introductory series by gifted new author and voluptuous literarian, Scarlett Whispers.

Protagonists Molly and Sam must sacrifice possible salvation in the former's case [and limb and possibly even life in the latter's], to thwart the evil Willy Lopez and his henchmen and even, at one point, rescue Molly's reluctant murderer and former police partner Casey, [in thrall to Lopez via her gambling addiction], in this ultimate battle of good vs evil and everlasting love.

Why doesn't Casey believe it possible that Molly was able to stop Jesse from raping her?

How does Molly get O'Dell to convey her message of warning to Sam? Why doesn't Sam believe the message or the messenger at first?

What happens to Molly as a result of her 'trial' at Halfway House? What does she gain?

What happens to Sam after the case is solved and the guilty brought to trial?

Who is Clarissa - how do she and Molly finally meet?

For what does Molly wait forty-two years?

This is a real feel-good story of overcoming the odds and how love can conquer death despite the very real odds against it. I enjoyed the series greatly because of the unusual scenario and the variety of events around the main characters. I was also fascinated by the huge contrasts between tension, hatred and downright evil and harmony, love and the ultimate good to be found in those who care about their friends and loved ones enough to do the right thing, whatever the personal cost!

I would highly recommend this episode and the whole series to fans of the Patrick Swayze/ Demi Moore film Ghost and of fantasy/romance-thrillers...you'll never regret the choice!

Very fast paced with raw justice and eternal love.

This is the fifth installment of After/Life, and enduring love of two people in life and afterlife too. If you get to read the first book you will not be satisfied until you read all the way through to the fifth and final book in this series. Would love if this came as either one long novel or a set of these five books. There is love, hate, mystery, suspense, judgements, risks and rewards. Your heart will be pounding to read what happens next.

Disappointing. Not fond of the abrupt ending or editing issues.

The abrupt ending to this book was jarring and left me annoyed. I don't mind buying a series of books, in fact, as a writer myself, I support fellow writers as much as I can, but I won't continue reading. There's a cliffhanger, then there's ending a book without allowing the reader enough information to understand the story. I can't help but think this book was divided into a series in a way that forces readers to buy the next book if they want to understand the story and characters. This is sad because the premise is interesting and has great potential.

Between the way the story is divided and the grammar issues (I had to re-read many sentences), I am disappointed.

A Good Story

This story was so full of twists and turns and different plots that it kept you turning the pages just to find out what was going to happen next. The characters were very intriguing. You will definitely enjoy this book. I received an advance copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.

Fantastic

Great read,my husband's was in the hospital and I pulled this book up and read it while sitting in different waiting rooms while he had test run,great book,reads fast!Will be reading more of this type,grabs your attention and pulls you in!!!

Molly is Awesome

Strangely compelling with plenty of action and plot twists to grab your attention. Love Molly's take no prisoners attitude and her undeniable love for Sam. But how do you escape limbo? Definitely want more and will be reading Anger.

A good read for all!

Usually don't like romance books but this one is so much more! A police drama with a bit of action, mystery, paranormal and a touch of romance. What more could you ask for in a book? Would recommend this read to all.

Short and amateurish

Interracial couple. Writing is a little amateurish. For instance, the stripper is supposed to be wearing "latex knee high stilettos" which should be "stiletto boots" since the stilettos themselves would described in inches "knee high stiletto boots with six inch heels". The place is also supposed to cater to the wealthy but has a "dank" smell of "cheap whisky and beer"; the liquor would be top of the line in a place like that with a classy atmosphere. Just little things like that seemed to jar me out of the story. I didn't make it all the way the through.

Interesting

Alyssa and Gabriel have made a home on the farm with Cora. The other archangels, Michael, Rafael and Ariel are there to help protect the innocent from helps demons. A child is born and within the year, all shell breaks loose as a pandemic hits the masses.

Lillith a demon, seduces Rafael as a ploy to populate demons with more power and strength. He has no choice but to remove her from existence.

The story is well thought out and the idea very enticing. I enjoy the characters and their emotional pleas. There are areas that could be better vetting, but overall, I like the series. I will continue y e to read as the story has captivated me.

The Power of His Touch

This is the second book in Alaina Stanford's Archangel Series. If you loved the first book, you won't be disappointed with this one.

Rafi is the Archangel with the Power to Heal, along with the job of sending demons back to Hell.... and he has his work cut out for him when Lilith, an old enemy, discovers that even Demons have Free Will, and comes back before her time of banishment is up.

A possible pandemic of a demonic nature had the Archangels traveling the world trying to find it's source and send the Demon responsible back to Hell.

A beautiful young Doctor who specializes in finding the source of a disease and developing a vaccine, meets Rafi in an unusual way and he begins to develop Earthly feeling for her. The longer an Angel treads the Earth the more susceptible they become to human emotions and Rafi must fight these feeling and keep to the task of locating the Demon Master and eradicating him.

The book continues from where " The Light of His Sword" left off and takes us on another amazing journey, Good against Evil and the strong emotions that go with it. You won't be disappointed.

I highly recommend "The Power of His Touch".

This is the second book in the series. Rafi, an archangel, is walking on earth to rid it of demons. His newest mission is to save people, maybe the world, of a deadly pandemic. From which is caused by a demon. Rafi and the other archangels have to find the demon who created this pandemic and abolish him. If that isn't enough, Rafi also finds himself having to deal with another demon named Lilith. Rafi also finds himself quite intrigued by Sophia, a woman he is working with, while he is disguised as a World Health Organization agent. Can he complete his mission, or does he go for the girl?

I enjoyed this book, but I liked the first book better. I enjoyed learning more about Rafi, and we get to meet some new archangels.

Screaming Jenny

A good quick ghost story. A wonderful read from an emerging author. A great first bookette with good attention to detail.

Enjoyed It

Creepy, sad tale of a haunt. It is a short, fast read. It is not for someone who is looking for gory, graphic violence, sex and language. This is the kind of tale you can read out loud before the fire on a chilly, gray day. This author knows how to tell a good story!

A perfect spooky tale

Screaming Jenny was that kind of ghost story that fits perfectly with a long dark night and some comfy pjâs. Itâs a quick enjoyable read that gets the reader involved with the characters and picturing the situation. I found myself sneering at some of the characters (no spoilers!) and siding with others. I recommend Screaming Jenny for a cozy fun read.

Great Short Story

I have had this short story on my Kindle for several months and don't know what took me so long to read it! The setting is in one of my most favorite places on earth. I loved the way it moved from the present into the lives of people in that town in the past. Becky's descriptive writing puts you right there.

Short, fast read leaving you wanting more

Slayers, vampires and werewolves. Working together for a necessary evil. A family tarnished my the blood of a vamp and forced to make decisions that could rip the tiny threads left holding them together forever, or restore the life they once knew. Humanity vs. revenge. This short story in Reign's vampire biker series has it all. Almost too short, but that is okay, because book four is just a click away. Highly recommend this series!

Chari's Story

Another well written short in the Biker series. This story is mostly from Chari's point of view. Chari is a Slayer, a society of humans sworn to fight the existence of vampires and werewolves. Struggling against her past and the reasons for the Slayers existing as well as her future, she finds herself in Dominic's path. Will this be her undoing or just the thing she needs to save her mother.

I love this book

I love this book. It is a standalone novel. It is full of mystery, suspense, surprise and romance. It is very well written, smooth flowing and easy to read. The author did a great job portraying the characters, their emotions and the experiences they go through.

Riley Cole had an extremely unpleasant childhood and moved away to live with an Aunt as soon as she was able to. She vowed never to return to that horrible place. She is now a successful private investigator. Most of her cases involving infidelity. While she may not be the neatest person alive, she is self sufficient and can take care of herself.

When a potential client comes to her office to ask Riley to take a case, the client will stop at nothing to get Riley to agree. It throws up all kinds of red flags. This case will change her life more than she could ever imagine.

Never Die

This was a good, quick, and uncomplicated read. It is perfect if you are looking for a nice entertaining read that wonât ask you to keep track of information, lineages, and lore from previous books. Everything you need to know is in the book and presented in a way that isnât an annoying info dump.

Riley was like and not like Hoffmannâs other characters. She had some snark, but not a ton of it. She was also a strong character though a bit nave with somethingâs. Though I will admit most of it is because Iâve read a ton of UF/PNR books and have a good idea about werewolves and the like.

Even though I had a good idea of who the big bad was early on in the book I still enjoyed the book a lot.

Riley and Luke were just cute. I donât know what else to say besides that â well when they got together they were hot. I felt the same frustrations Riley did over Lukeâs hot/cold crap.

Lance was, well, Lance. You have to read the book to understand. He is complicated in the fact that you never really have a good idea of what he will do or say.

All in all I liked this book. N.L. Hoffmann books are usually auto buys for me and I can admit that some did not work for me. But, the good totally outweigh the bad for me when it comes to her offerings.

Never Die

I never really grew to like the personalities or interactions between the protagonists in this book, but it was a good story line with an unexpected twist at the end. There was some interesting world building with the pack structure and the politics of alpha challenges, but, unfortunately, a lot of holes in the plot and many issues I thought would be handled more aggressively...
