Publisher's Summary:
I have a few questions for you. Are you miserable at work every day? What are you getting out of your job? Have you seen promotion opportunities open for you? Do you have good relationships with coworkers? How often are you stressed out, even after you get home? Does feedback from your boss make you feel proud or frustrated?
I fully understand those frustrations, and, having been through all of them and more, I want to help. By sharing the principles Ive learned in customer support roles, hopefully I can cut your learning curve and increase job satisfaction.
In addition to sharing actionable insights on how to improve in your role, this book includes sections poking around important personal questions. Why even care about your customer service job? What can you gain from these jobs? How do you benefit from giving a full effort? I bet many of you are leaving opportunities on the table and wasting your valuable time, just like I did when I first started.
This book contains the same advice Id give to my younger siblings, a new coworker, or a stranger on the street. Ive done everything I can to refine my ideas and present them in a simple yet impactful way. Ive illustrated the concepts using a mix of personal experience, thought experiments, and logic to give you multiple perspectives. Between these varied styles, I'm confident you'll gain at least a few valuable insights as you move forward in customer service.

Far beyond my expectations! Highly recommend this one!!
Highly recommend!! Surviving Customer Service went far beyond my expectations. I worked in a customer service position for ten years and thought Iâd done a pretty good job of it. Well, Donovon Jenson is not only the master of customer service but how to deal with people at work in general. He breaks customer service into Four Pillars: Mindset, Communication, Knowledge, and Business. Every section is a great mix of wisdom, humor, personal examples, and best of all, simple steps you can take to improve your customer service, and your own work experience at the same time. The book is written in a conversational style that made me feel comfortable, and the abundance of information was helpful without being overwhelming. Iâm not in customer service now, but I still learned a lot from this book. Loved it!
Honest, Helpful

As a manager at a support center, this book really rings true. The day to day grind of dealing with customers can be quite challenging and over time can lead to burnout. This book is written in a way that agents can relate to, with funny stories and ideas to get you through the day. It also helps you realize that support is a great stepping stone to your next position if done the right way.
